Republic West Remodeling, Inc.

On December 31, 2016, Leonard B***, an employee of Republic West, required us to give Republic West a refundable deposit of $2,pending entering into a kitchen remodeling contract The check clearly provided in the memo line “Refundable Deposit Pending Contract.”
On January 19, 2017, Leonard B*** informed us that he is leaving Republic West On January 23, 2017, since (i) we hadn’t received a draft contract from Republic West; (ii) Leonard had left the company; and (iii) no one from the company contacted us to take Leonard’s place, I, *** ***, contacted Mike Z*** at Republic West to request a refund of the deposit until we could evaluate other proposals as well as any proposal/contract that they decide to give us At that point, we remained open to Republic West doing the remodel if we liked Leonard’s replacement and if the contract was acceptableMike Z*** said he would have to check on the deposit and would get back to me the next day Havin

If you want work done on your home and money is no object then this is the place for you I cannot speak to the quality of the work that they do because it never got that far I placed a $deposit so they could get started on the design work I understand that this is a lot of work and they need some sort of certainty that they can recoup some of their expenses What they came back with was an astronomical bid I won't get into the whole issue of pricing but here is an example They had a line item in for repainting the house (all walls, baseboards, doors and ceilings) The amount that they came up with was $ Note that this is a square foot house After seeing this red flag I met at the house that weekend with painters to get bids for the same work They came back with bids of $and $
In an effort to get some value for the $that I had already committed I told them that I would still hire them to install the folding wall system in the house They returned with a bid of $34, I have also reached out for competing bids I have only received one back but it came in at $19,
I will be looking elsewhere or I will do the work myself Do yourself a favor and don't even get started here I cannot believe that if feels good to be walking away from $

I recently had an issue with a patio door that I bought in from a company that I thought was Republic West Remodeling, Inc I found that the company I bought the door from was no longer in business, but a gentleman from the company came out to my home and inspected the door He confirmed that the door was not purchased from their company, but he made arrangements to have his repair specialist come out and take a look Long story short these people went above and beyond anything they were obligated to do They saved me from having to buy a new door! And it's operating beautifully now If I ever have need of their services in the future, I would not hesitate to call them!

Worst experience ever! Our 2-week shower remodel took over months due to lack of communication and poor craftsmanship Subcontractors returned 2-times to complete work There was poor communication with the guy running the job with us and subcontractors We paid way too much for the headache and complete lack of professionalism we experienced After leaving messages to speak to a manager regarding our issues we received a call from the accountant While he was very nice he wasn't in the position to make decisions or deal with the problems at hand Complete joke!

What they came back with was an astronomical bid. I won't get into the whole issue of pricing but here is an example. They had a line item in for repainting the house (all walls, baseboards, doors and ceilings). The amount that they came up with was $7000. Note that this is a 2600 square foot house. After seeing this red flag I met at the house that weekend with 2 painters to get bids for the same work. They came back with bids of $1700 and $2500.

In an effort to get some value for the $5000 that I had already committed I told them that I would still hire them to install the folding wall system in the house. They returned with a bid of $34,956. I have also reached out for competing bids. I have only received one back but it came in at $19,554.25.

I will be looking elsewhere or I will do the work myself. Do yourself a favor and don't even get started here. I cannot believe that if feels good to be walking away from $5000.
