I have been dealing with this situation for nearly three weeks now with Republic Waste for our trash pick up. Three weeks ago we went out to get our trash can after pick up, it was gone, of course we call the company.
Back story: last year we found out we had two accounts due to a "glitch in the system" Had the second account removed and they mailed us a check for 1/4 year of payments.
Fast forward to March this year- got bills for two accounts again. Called to figure out which one was correct, the one they told us to pay was not the correct one. Call back to pay on the correct account when I had my card...oops nope that isn't the right account. So they really have no clue which is which. Did not make a payment at this time (mind you I had just paid in Feb.)
This month after can was picked up---1st call APRIL 7th- It was picked up because of "non-payment" I paid them for our quarterly bill in February. Said it would be a $75 fee plus three months in advance to re-instate service. Approx $170. I decided to look into other options because I was mad to say the least.
Found out I don't have any other options for waste removal. (even went as far as pre-paying for service with another company and on delivery day they said we were too far out of their routes)
Lumping several calls together and many customer service reps: Called back to see if we can get the $75 fee waived and get service re-instated. The representative said we have a balance of $441 and that the account is locked with large bold letters saying not to re-instate our service without us paying this. UHMMMM WHERE *** did this balance come from? --- because of multiple accounts with non-payment--- even then she agreed that would be 1.5 years of non payment on two accounts to wrack up that kind of balance. Why would the company have mailed me a check if I owed them $441'??
-Was told we had two open accounts and two closed accounts (I have had ONE trash can for the 10 years we have lived here)
Terrible customer service experience

Billing Adjustment This company has nothing but terrible reviews on their *** page, several on my personal account after sharing my story and several here on Revdex.com. This company needs to be investigated further. I ran out of characters above but I received an email today 4/22 with another "explanation" of charges we need to pay and raising prices if we re-instate service with them.

Refuse to pick up my recycling
I've reported this company to the Revdex.com before and here I am again. Surprise surprise SURPRISE they didn't pick up my recycling again this month. Reopen my last complaint or add this to the list. Something has got to be done about the incompetency of this company.
