April 30, Dear Revdex.com Operations Department: This letter is regarding a complaint on 4/23/14, ID number [redacted] The refund of $was received on 4/29/via FedExIt was confirmed with him via email on 4/29/14, Thank you The Residences of South Hills

At first I was excited about this apartment because it was the best I could find near my job that allowed pets, but now all I have to say is run while you still canThis place is not as advertisedThe washer and dryer units are almost always broken and you have to call the company (not our maintenance) to get them fixed which can take up to a weekThey will also show you a beautiful model of their apartments, but this is just a illusionThe paint job does not match and is patched up, the mock granite counter tops look anything but, I can see where they patched up a wall they knocked out in my bedroom, the carpets have bong stains from previous occupants, and the bathroom basin is so cheap that when my cat knocked my candle over it punched a huge hole through itThere is also a major bug infestation because of our lovely residents from Nepal leaving trash and food in the hallway and their children constantly breaking the windows and doors to the buildingsI have tried to be patient and I usually like learning from people of other cultures, but these people from Nepal that make up well over half our population here are simply appalling, sexist, loud, and messyDon't even try to put in a noise complaint when they are celebrating from 5pm to 4am because management will do nothingAnother part of our population are drug dealers so I hope you enjoy fumes and sketchy peopleAlso while they advertise they no longer take section I have to call that to questionThere are cops and ambulances in my neighborhood several times a weekIt is advertised as a nice wholesome community and looks nice from the outside, but don't be fooledThese are overpriced projects with a crappy attempt at a new paint jobMy lease is up in August and I am relieved

Review: I contacted the facilites office on 1/10/2014 and spoke with the manager [redacted] regarding the incident that transpired with my emergency call placed (that was not remediated until days later) to fix the fridge before my food spoils. When I placed the service call and [redacted] was dispatched, there was ample time to repair the issue. The person that was dispatched chose not to repair as claimed he was the only person on call and there were other issues that took precedence against mine. As a result, perishable items that can cause health issue like (simonella) went bad. When I addressed the issue with the facilities manager [redacted], he wanted to get into an argument with me rather than trying to address the issue of the fact that I had over $100 worth of food items that went bad. He indicated that I had to contact my renters insurance to get reimbursed. This was never communicated to me when I obtained my lease and I was not provided with information on how they handled emergency request (like mine) until addressing the issue with [redacted]. Had I been provided with the policy prior to this instance, I would be aware of the policies but [redacted] had a nasty disposition and did not provide assitance with this issue. The fact that C[redacted] was the only person on call is not my issue as a resident as there was ample time to replace, provide dry ice or get me a temporary unit so that my perishable items did not go bad. [redacted] explained how he had not been home and did not take a look at the fridge until I requested to do so. I am now out of the money for my groceries and this could have been remediated if the office provided information regarding leasing procedures when obtainin a lease. I have only been in the apartment for less than 2 months and the fridge should not have gone bad in the timeframe. After calling several times (and no one was dispatched), I was provided with a new fridge. The items in the fridge sat out potentially over 20 hours; nearly reaching the next day. I would to be reimbused.Desired Settlement: Reimbursement without having to file a claim with my renters insurance in the amount of $100.00

Review: I called The Residences of South Hills inquiring about apartment rentals. On June 2,2014 I recieved an application by email with instructions to send a non-refudable $45.00 for a credit/background check plus a $300.00 deposit. I did so along with two current pay stubs. I phoned the business on June 9, 2014 to ask if I was approved. I was. I visited the property on June 10,2014. The apartment I was shown was too small for my needs. Plus, I have a concern for the crime rate at this complex. I informed the leasing specialist so. She said she would look for a larger one. I told her I would call her on Thursday June 12, 2014. I drove around the area looking at the whole complex. I decided that this place wasn't what I was looking for in any way. I was told the $300.00 was non-refundale. I couldn't believe it. My phone calls and emails since have not been returned. No explanation how they justify keeping $300.00 of mine.Desired Settlement: $300.00 returned to me in a timely fashion

Review: I have paint chipping off the walls since I have moved in here October 2000. I need 3 new window screens put in. I need new carpet down since it is coming up in places and when you open my apartment door. I can't get my mail due to them not providing a new key. I have a one year old son and don't want him to get hurt. I have mold also growing in my place. Need the whole place painted. I need my drawer fixed in the kitchen. I have been waiting now over a month for this to be done and still hasn't. My boyfirend watches my son when I am at work. So I would like this work done ASAP! I have called them to get this done and they give me the run around. I am ready to find another place very soon. Thanks so much.Desired Settlement: I pay this place 636.00 every month and want the work done or I am breaking my lease.

Review: I was going to rent a apartment, I paid a 90.00 Application fee which she said in nonrefundable and a $300.00 Security Deposit on 3-28-14. I was going to move in on 3-31-14,It did not work out and I did not take the apartment. When I spoke to [redacted] and told her she said they would mail me a refund within 7 to 14 days, it is now April 23 and no refund. When I call and leave messages I get no return calls. I have a message also on my phone from her stating the refund is in the mail. Please help me to get my Security deposit back of $300.00. I don't know what else to do on my part. Thank you [redacted]Desired Settlement: I want my Security deposit of $300.00 back, as it has been well over 14 days. Thank you

Review: I went to view apartments at the Residences of South Hills in June of 2014. I was interested in a townhouse but was concerned heat wasn't included even though they advertised free heat. Upon confirming with three different employees that heat was included I signed my lease. I now find out three months later that heat isn't included and I want to move out. They told me I have to pay the rent and utilities until they "find a new tenant" at their convenience, of course. I told them the day I viewed the townhouse that I didn't want it if it didn't include heat because I could not afford that additional bill in the winter. I agreed to pay for my last month and give thirty days notice and they did not accept this. I don't understand how it is acceptable to tell a prospective tenant one thing and deliver another and there is nothing the tenant can do about it.Desired Settlement: I would like my lease to be dissolved effective 10-31-2014 and my security deposit returned upon inspection of the townhouse.

Review: My wife [redacted] and I came in to get approved to move into this complex the day after Memorial Day. We were told then that June's rent would be free if approved before the end of May. We even have it in writing dated the day after Memorial Day. They only said sorry it was our mistake at first to change it to sorry there must have been a mistake. We still have to pay for June with July free instead. This postponed our moving in since our wedding ceremony was June 7 and we were paying for it. That's why we did things the way we did. We got screwed. They were told from the beginning that [redacted] has a car and I have a car and motorcycle which is fine...no worries. Today, June 19, I was told only one parking permit per person on the lease, and my motorcycle will have to use a guest permit that I have to get every week for a year. There are holes in the living room closet, a broken wall socket cover in the kids room, ripped screens that we were told would be new before we moved in, garbage outside the windows of 2 bedrooms, water damage above the shower head on the ceiling...old and new, rotting smell in the laundry room stinking up our whole floor of the building, and more. The lady said she would put in a work order. However, anywhere I've lived like this they put in the order right there and ask if they have permission to enter if not home and are there any animals. None was done. We are tired of the lack of full disclosure the state of PA real estate law mandates for even rentals. I keep all proof as to dates, papers, phone records and such to go to court if need be. It will happen if not resolved properly and professionally for once. The constant I'm sorry does not correct anything or change it. It just angers and infuriates us because they think words of apology take care of incompetence and shady business practices like bait and switch tactics...not legal either.Desired Settlement: Fix what needs fixed, and ask if we give permission to enter if not home like supposed to. Do their job to the letter. If I did my job like they do, 70+ people would die...if my wife did her job like they do, people's accounts would be messed up regularly and neither of us would be employed. I would also lose my certification and go to prison. The last thing, and there is no compromise here, is that the people screwing up and just saying sorry are fired or suspended and retrained at the least.

At first I was excited about this apartment because it was the best I could find near my job that allowed pets, but now all I have to say is run while you still can. This place is not as advertised. The washer and dryer units are almost always broken and you have to call the company (not our maintenance) to get them fixed which can take up to a week. Don't even try to put in a noise complaint when they are celebrating from 5pm to 4am because management will do nothing. Another part of our population are drug dealers so I hope you enjoy fumes and sketchy people. Also while they advertise they no longer take section 8 I have to call that to question. There are cops and ambulances in my neighborhood several times a week. It is advertised as a nice wholesome community and looks nice from the outside, but don't be fooled. These are overpriced projects with a crappy attempt at a new paint job. My lease is up in August and I am relieved.
