narrative to explain my positionHopefully these will give you a more complete picture as to what has transpired, rather than the cherry picked items contained in his complaint.Also, please be aware that prior to receiving this complaint notice, I had refunded the fee for his inspectionI see where his resolution to his complaint would be for me to "finish the job"Be aware that I did 'finish the job" but he simply refuses to believe me because what my report contains apparently does not agree with his preconceived idea of what the report should sayDuring most of the email exchange, he was demanding his money back so I assumed that this would satisfy him.Further, I believe that continuing with a relationship with *** *** would subject me to an almost endless string of accusations and threats going forwardAs for his Statement of the Problem: I became less friendly after being accused of being untruthful and negligent.I explained the issue with the refrigerator several times in the emails.His comment about the binocular inspection of roof is the first time I have heard thisI talked at length with him during the inspection, including explaining how the roof pitch was too steep to walk without scaffolding, the fact that inspectors are not required to walk roofs per NYS SOP, and that the roof appeared OK except for a few raised shingles that should be re-seatedHis comment about the post / pad is covered in the email thread.His quote of my reply is a portion of a reply I gave him after a dozen or more email exchanges where he ignored my explanations and clarifications, would sometimes quote statements or report sections for a still unexplained reason (when I mentioned that I did not know what he was talking about, his subsequent replies not only did not offer any clarification, but simply ignored my comment and introduced yet more complaints about non-existent problems], and was continuing to identify new problems where there were none (inferring that I was negligent in not reporting them)Not one of the issues he brought up has any validity and you cannot explain something to someone who simply will not listen I performed the inspection on Thursday the 2ND Deposited checks for the week on Saturday the and blocked online access to the report on Monday the S"" when I decided that a refund was probably going to be the best course of action and I did not want him using or otherwise benefitting from the report if I was going to refund his fee I believe, after reading his statements and talking with his agent who had contacted me to offer an apology for her client's behavior, that he is very unhappy that the house he had chosen and signed contracts to purchase has so many problems and that none of the problems individually a reestimated to cost in excess of the repair cost that would allow him to re-open price negotiationsMy report listed individual issues and/or concerns, quite a lot for a single family home As I mentioned earlier, have returned his fee and as far as I'm concerned, hope the matter isclosed, although to date he has told me he was filing a complaint with the "NYS Division of Licensing" and NYS Attorney GeneralMy reason for this rather long reply to his complaint is that Ido not feel that this should be a part of record because his entire set of issues have no basis inreality*** *** exhibited a rather aggressive demeanor at the time of inspection and I wonder ifhe is aggravated that he has been unable to coerce me into doing or saying things against my better judgement and the facts All of our correspondence has consisted of the report I provided and the email thread that I have includedThere have been no phone calls, texts, etc My response consists of this letter, copy of email thread from 06-thru 06-2016, my written narrative regarding the email thread, two photos referenced in the emails, and a copy of the home inspection report Sincerely,David H***
