We would like to thank you for bringing Ms*** correspondence to our attention and for giving our organization the opportunity to research this matter thoroughlyWe have reviewed and documented our findings and we would like to provide you with the facts concerning this matterAccording to
our records, Ms*** booked a night cruise to Alaska, through our agency, on November 15, The cost of this cruise is $5,plus 40,pointsThe cruise is set to sail from Seattle, Washington on September 11, Our records indicate that on November 18, 2014, agent *** ** ** *** contacted *** *** through our dialer system and discussed the current vacation package offered through her membership with RCIThis vacation package was for one Premium cruise for two, or two seven (7) night cruises for two, plus a land vacationThe cost of this vacation package was $3,*** indicated to Ms*** that she would be able to save a substantial amount of money by booking her cruise using the certificate in the packageThis information, *** later discovered, was not correct*** told Ms*** that before he sold her the package, he would have to do some checking and he would call her backThey did speak a couple of times that day discussing the possibility of moving the booked cruise to a certificate, however Ms*** did tell *** that she did want the same cabinAt this point in time, no package was purchasedOn or about November 21, *** called Ms*** again and indicated that he cannot guarantee the same cabinMs*** says she wants to save the money, but she reiterates again that she wants to stay in the same cabinMs*** was busy and asked that *** call her back at a later timeOn or about November 24, 2014, *** called Ms*** and indicated that he had talked to the cruise booking department and his supervisor, and that he cannot move the existing cruise to a new package, and that the certificates in the new package would have to be used for a future cruiseMs*** got upset and *** said he would speak to his supervisor again to see what could be doneOn November 25, 2014, the cruise booking supervisor *** called Ms*** and explained to her that the information she had previously received was incorrect She could not move the existing cruise to one of the certificatesIf she purchased the package, she would have to use the certificates for a future cruise. On December 4, 2014, Ms*** spoke to another supervisor, ***, who reiterated the fact that the information previously provided to her by *** was incorrect and that by using her exchange and trading power was providing her the best savings on her current booking*** indicated that if she booked the cruise using the certificates, it would cost more that currently booked for, and would not be in her best interestMs*** continued to insist that she did purchase a package and *** was working out the detailsAgain, no package was purchased at this time.On December 5, 2014, Ms*** spoke to the supervisor in the customer service department, ***a, at great length, who had reviewed all the calls, and also reiterated the information to Ms***, that there was an initial mistake made, that *** thought he would be saving Ms*** money by using the certificates, but in fact, would not***a mentioned again to Ms*** that she had not purchased a package; however, Ms*** insisted that as far as she was concerned, there was a package purchased.Bottom line is that by using her trading power of 40,points plus the $5,is more cost effective than using the certificate in a new packageUsing the certificate, the cost of the cruise would be $3,for the cabin, taxes, pass through fees, grand suite upgrade and booking fee, plus the cost of the package of $3,699.00, or a total of $6,Thus, she currently has the cabin she wanted and for the lowest price we can provide. We would like to thank you for the opportunity to clarify the status of this matter by providing and explaining the additional facts involved.Best Regards,*** ***Resolution Specialist Office of the President

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Their employee, [redacted], contacted me and informed that he would be able to save me over $2000 on the cruise that I had already booked and I agreed to the deal.  The bottom line is that the offer was made and accepted, therefor we have an agreement.  At no time was it indicated that the deal would not be in my best interest.  Therefor I expect to receive the $2000 savings on the cruise.  Because of the way this was handled I am no longer dealing with RCI on this cruise ad I have transferred it to [redacted]
[redacted] directly.  Also when it was transferred to [redacted]RCI tried  to increase the price that I still owed on the cruise.  The way RCI does business is unacceptable.   After 30 years of doing business with them I am shocked at how they handle their deals.  They should not offer deals if they are not going to honor them.
