Re: Damages
The return and tax codes speak for themselvesIRS and State tax codes add 'interest 'for overdue paymentIf Mr*** did not pay tax due, payment is his responsibility
Re: Date of Transaction:
I will verify it is approximately correctBe aware the date a paid preparer filed is not necessarily the date IRS or State officially receives itIt is common those dates vary by a few days or over weekends
Re: Additional comments
If, as Mr*** claims, he is financially damaged by his alleged incomplete or enormous 2010 tax return, does is not appear suspicious that his complaint was not filed within a few days or weeks? He was aware of his tax due when he signed the return and left my officeWhy did he not immediately seek another opinion? Something more occurred during the last four yearsWhat????

Re: Was an oral or written warranty given?

NO. Absolutely NO As a licensed tax preparer since 1994, I have never ever used or implied the word warranty.  I follow an advisory that they we prepare clients tax returns based only the information derived from a client's documents. I ask questions to inquire or clarify facts, not to invent them.

Re: Did you sign any documents?

Yes. Every paid tax preparer must sign every return he/she prepares. It required by law. A preparer paid return cannot be filed without the preparer signature.

Re: Damages

The return and tax codes speak for themselves. IRS and State tax codes add 'interest 'for overdue payment. If Mr. [redacted] did not pay tax due, payment is his responsibility.

Re: Date of Transaction:

I will verify it is approximately correct. Be aware the date a paid preparer filed is not necessarily the date IRS or State officially receives it. It is common those dates vary by a few days or over weekends.

If, as Mr. [redacted] claims, he is financially damaged by his alleged incomplete or enormous 2010 tax return, does is not appear suspicious that his complaint was not filed within a few days or weeks? He was aware of his tax due when he signed the return and left my office. Why did he not immediately seek another opinion? Something more occurred during the last four years. What????
