Customer called us to repair damage to their home caused by a hail storm We provided the customer with written estimates for the work, and received a signed contract on or about 7/27/with a $17,deposit Over 6,buildings in the area were affected by the hail storm
When we were completed with all of the work around 9/28/15, we invoiced the customer $49,for the entire project which included siding, roofing and new windows On 10/29/we received $toward the invoice Customer would not pay us any more money claiming that the insurance company needed to inspect the job before releasing any further monies We did not get any more money until 5/2/16, for the amount of $19, This still leaves a balance of $3,to be paid The customer has asked that certain punch list items, described as "damage" be addressed We have met with the customer in October 2015, and in April to address her concerns On the first occasion we came to address the problems and she said that she hired someone else to fix the items without giving us a chance to correct her issues, which were minorWe gave her a credit for that work which was more extensive than what we had contracted for because it involved work that we were not contracted to do, such as painting her living room Winter weather came in and we went over to the customer's house and went over a second punch listThis was in April, we responded to her issues withing hours and her significant other who owns the house agreed that it was all ok We then demanded that they pay the outstanding balance and they complained about new issues All of our work was inspected by a professional of the insurance company who found all work to be completed professionally and accepted the work that was in our contracted scope The customer, throughout the construction phase was uncooperative She demanded that we only work on certain days at certain hours which were never stipulated in our conversations or in the contract documents In one instance we showed up, to go to work, rang the door bell, and there was no response We later contacted the customer and she said that she heard the bell, but did not want to answer it We did not charge the customer for this work delayRecently she refused to give us a third punch list, but now she has one Supposedly she has hired an independent inspector from the mortgage company or a third party we do not know which, to inspect the work We asked to be notified of any third party inspection All of our work was done in a timely and professional manner All of this is completely confusing to us and not standard industry practice What is most confusing about this is that this "customer" is not a signer on the contract or owner of the property, but rather a significant other of the owner, we believe We are more than willing to correct any deficiencies, we have asked for a new punch list and have not been provided one Punch lists are usually final and do not continue indefinitely We only want a satisfied customer Responding immediately to complaints and not getting paid tens of thousands of dollars for our work for months is certainly not the sign of a poor contractor Having work hours changed, and not allowing us to work in an orderly manner, is disruptive and costly We feel as though we are being treated extremely unfairly, and are certainly not to blame for this customer's dissatisfaction

Siding was installed properly Company representatives have met with customer for a total of over hours personally and on the phone for a minimum of two hours more Customer experienced hail damage that was originally underestimated by the insurance adjuster Company rescheduled
a meeting with the adjuster to detail further damage and customer received a much higher settlement for the damage due to hail than originally proposed allowing customer to have more work performed under his insurance policyAll work that the customer wanted to have done was not covered by the insurance settlement, however. Bad weather came in early and only the siding part of the project could be completed It was completed in a timely manner Customer did not pay for the job in full siting the substitution of Tyvex for the fan fold insulation as reason for his non payment We explained numerous times to the customer that fan fold insulation was not installed, due to the way the double wide house was constructed with integral j channels molded into the windows With the J channel around the windows, the extra thickness of the fan fold would not allow the siding to fit into the j channel The correct way to install vinyl siding with these double wide homes is to remove existing siding, install Tyvex which we did do and then install the new siding The price to install Tyvex or fan fold is the same, but we offered to install new shutters for free for the customer which was rejected He now claims to want the entire siding job for freeSince the insurance company paid for the siding, any credits would go to the insurance company, which also was not acceptable to the customer They wanted a free siding job and the money from the insurance company
As to the roof complaint The customer had a poor roof years before the hail storm hit, with holes in it and a leaking skylight due to poor maintenance The insurance company would not pay for both skylights to be replaced, only one The customer was upset about this Due to work load, we could not get to his roof till Spring after the winter weather When the bad weather subsided we immediately contacted the customer about doing the roof work We, however, wanted to be paid for the rest of the siding work first since it had been several months, and we needed a shingle color The customer refused to pay us and refused to select a color and give us permission to start the jobThis went on for several months We could not answer every phone call and email They were voluminous and nothing was getting resolved and the subject matter never changedWe did meet with the customer several times to explain and resolve any issues We also reviewed the pricing of the roof work, which was reduced from the original quote from $to $to help the customer The customer wanted us to further reduce the price to $8, We refused to do so
So to accommodate the customer we offered to install new shutters, a value of $and gave them a discount on the roofing work of $for a total of $1, We did this for no other reason than to build good will There were no quality issues or poor workmanshipIn anticipation of doing the roof work, we ordered the skylights which we have in inventory and have

Dear [redacted]
        Please use the meterials sent to you which I understand you received as a reference. I totally refuse the statements written in their reply.  I will list the reasons for my reasoning;
Correll states “THE SIDING WAS INSTALLED PROPERLY”.  All documents we have state that 3/8 foil faced was to be put on our home.  Nowhere did it state otherwise.  No change was noted and a substitute was used (pieces of thin flat plastic was applied) The siding is buldging.  Although Corrrell  stresses the siding was installed properly, he avoids pointing out are complaint is about what was on the agreement (3/8/ foil faced)  He also told us that everyone makes mistakes.  Any contact was from us to them, not the other way around. Correll made the agreements to do certain work for us, and did it at turtle pace. The siding was put on our home in the coldest part of winter.   In December of 2014 a older gentleman , a older woman and young girl were pulling off our old siding while the bitter winds and snow were falling. During their work they snapped off some of the exterior corners of the windows.   They removed the shutters and cracked a few of them, if we purchased new shutters they said they would not put on the new ones. The new light on the rear of the house was replaced and caused electrical power failure.  On one reply from Marissa  (Correll secretary) she was told of our issue and we wanted the people they hired names and the fact we received no warrenty. She stated that the person who did the work would be told and would drop off a warrenty. (we never received any warrenty).  Another paper sent to you was a copy of the $8000 check we gave in good faith for the work promised. ($4000 for the siding and $4000 towards the roof) Now the Correll Corp wants to use our roof money for the poor siding job.
Correll states that a proposal to do work on our roof would be done in a timely manner. I believe having a leaking roof and a skylight with a large hole that is causing inside damage is anything but timely.  Their excuse has always been “we can’t get the skylights” although now they instantly are in their office.  We feel Correll is treating us with disrespect as the owner felt a need to belittle be on the phone.  He continues to now tell you we are looking for a free job, would we give him $8000  only asking him to do what the contract says.  Correll  had his men over to look at the work needed, they agreed to do so and gave us their word in writing.  We believe as we sit here today that we got not we agreed to, instead we have a siding job that permits water to run behind the siding and a roof that is rotting in front of our eyes.   Justice needs to be done, Correll needs to make good for these discusting mistakes.
Other notes:  Correll workers hired left debis on our deck, which caused me to fall five steps and a trip to the doctor to find out  I have a contusion to my leg and head.  I see Correll failed to say anything about that.  The fact that the siders left the light fixures hanging and not completed. left the area dark and dangerous.  The large bushes around are home were damaged and needed to be removed.
The money that should have been released when the job was completed is lost due to Correll’s lack of work done ($3,500)  Who makes up for that loss?  Correll  want’s to buy us new shutters for our troubles, is that fair?  Defective siding and no roof work, they call that GOOD FAITH/'?We continue to say Correll  is the one who failed to meet their obligations, not us.  We continue to ask for the money full refund due to lack of good work and good faith. We continue to hold Correll responsible for all damages since our agreement. We will seek out what is fair and paying someone for bad work or no work is unethical . We hope after reading the package you will agree.
