I purchased a home in September that had prior roof work done from Responsible Remodeling. I'll preface my review by saying I'm not 100% sure that the area I currently have a leak in is the area that was worked on by this company. I believe it is, as the area had a second set of shingles on the roof, but that fact is irrelevant in regards to my comments.

I contacted [redacted], who I believe is the [redacted] several months ago to inquire about having our leak looked at and adding that I thought it might be under warranty because before we bought the house the previous [redacted] had a warranty repair done at our request. He said he wasn't sure but would have someone contact me to set something up. Weeks went by and I received no contact. I emailed the company and weeks went by with no contact. I placed another call to [redacted] and he said someone would contact me again to set something up. Again, weeks of no contact.

Now today, I just got off the phone with [redacted] from responsible remodeling. He said someone would contact me. I asked if someone would actually call me this time since I've tried this several times before. He then informed me that he didn't call me back because he thought I was insisting on a warranty repair. I told him that I didn't know if it was or not, and had said as much previously. He assured me that he would have someone contact me for a "paid," repair. I said that regardless of whether it's paid or not, it's not a reason to disregard a customers call. He said he misunderstood my intention and would have someone call me for a paid repair. I told him to forget about it because I wouldn't let someone work on my home that makes decisions about returning a customers call based upon if the customer wanted warranty service or not.

I don't understand how one can run a business in this manner. And I certainly wouldn't advise anyone who has had work done by this company to expect their warranty to be honored based on this attitude.

Responsible Remodeling – Excellent Work !! Responsible Remodeling recently completed a renovation of our home, which included roofing, siding, entry doors, window replacement, and some construction. We were extremely satisfied with the results. The house came out beautiful! In fact, people passing by our home have been stopping and commenting on how wonderful the house looks. Doug K provided us with an estimate after hearing our plans and offered suggestions and ideas. He was very helpful and we appreciated that he listened to us and our ideas. We had a great dialogue regarding how we were going to proceed to make the project work. Also, the foreman, William, was an excellent carpenter. He and the other members of his team worked very well together, very hard, efficiently, and the quality of their work was exceptional. They were all very friendly and took pride in their work and it showed in the final result. The men kept everything very clean while they worked and cleaned up the property each day. When an issue arose, we made the decision together to achieve the best possible solution and the one which provided the best appearance. Doug and William even encouraged us to watch the team work, which was wonderful considering that we have previous experience in home construction. There was great dialogue between us and all of the Responsible team, which made us feel very comfortable with all aspects of the job. And best of all, we received a very good price for the high quality of workmanship. As a side note, we had used Responsible many years ago for home siding and we initially had some concerns with the expected quality of the work other than siding. But, those concerns quickly vanished during our discussion with Doug, watching the Responsible team work, and seeing the final result. We were extremely satisfied with the performance of Responsible Remodeling and we certainly recommend their services to others looking for a high quality contractor who listens and works really well with the homeowner.
