Rest of Life Communications

Review: On or about, Sept, 2012, my finance and I paid $2,097 for a subscription to Money For Life, a Christian organization that helps people get out of debt and plan for retirement. We were never able to use this program as there were many difficulties in the computer issues and scheduling. On May 30, 2013, we wrote a letter (a copy of which I can provide if necessary) to Rest of Life Communications, which must be the parent company, requesting that subscription be canceled immediately. However, today in the mail, we received a letter from Universal Account Servicing, LLC; stating that they were collecting our info and were going to share it. I called their number and asked who they were and told them they could not collect/share our info. The customer service rep said we had an account with Money For Life. I said no, we cancelled that. She told me that it was still active and we were currently paid up as of Sept 16, 2013. She said it was a binding contact and that we owe $49.95 for 30 payments. She told me that she could remove our credit card as of today and I agreed. The next payment she said was going to be due October 15, 2013. She gave me Money for Life Customer Service number which is ###-###-####. No one, and I mean NO ONE told us that this was a binding contract and that we only had 3 days to change our minds. WHAT KIND of Christian company puts common folk over a barrel like that? We must have this bleeding artery stopped. Can you please help us? (I removed all the personal information as was requested)Desired Settlement: End this subscription immediately with no more money paid. We have no copies of ANY paperwork on this matter and we never provided any. My husband noticed the charges on the credit card but thought it was just taking them some time to clear the account since our letter of cancellation to them in May, 2013. A copy I will provide you with later.I just cannot believe that there are not other fine Christian folk that have not be hoodwinked by this company.
