This patient is insaneI can not refund her anything because she didn't pay any moneyThe procedures we did for her were 100% covered by her insuranceThus I am not sure I can refund her anything if she didn't pay any moneyShe is insane and psychopathicShe is simply
complaining that we recommended therapies for her that if she elected to do would cost some moneyAnd the only reason we recommended those procedures is because her teeth ang gums are diseased in a manner where we are required by law to make those treatment recommendations.
Sincerely
Dr Ali M***

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: I initially filled this complaint because of your poor service and I can see you are trying your best to make me pay you money from my pocket by making all these false claims. I was in your office for routine exam which is fully covered by my insurance. Just because you think you performed FMD its not going to change any fact or reality. Feel free to hire any attorney you want, you will not get a single penny.

Good luck.
Regards,
[redacted]

Dear Ms. [redacted]

1) I did not diagnose or treatment plan any fillings for you.
Instead the only thing I did was identified "baby cavities , aka incipient caries" and I simply recommended a special prescription tooth paste called prevident which uses ultra high concentrations of fluoride to actually heal and remineralize the incipient lesions before they progress to fillings. Thus the only person that makes money on that recommendation I made for you is your pharmacy. So I was simply trying to heal your baby cavities which are clearly visible on your xrays without any dentist intervention. This is the main reason I said that in my opinion you are insane and somewhat psychopathic and I stand by that statement still. Because the slanderous statements you made about me trying to do fillings on your teeth to make money are obviously false and amusingly crazy.

2)
what happened to your husband I dont know because I was not his dentist and I am not even confirming if he was seen in my office that day. I have no idea if he was seen in our office and I didnt see him myself so by you saying that I unethically "found 8 cavities on your husband because I am in dentistry for the wrong reasons and I am an unethical dentist" that is a insane and slanderous statement. this is ofcourse totally on par with your other illogical and therefore insane statements.

3)
as I explained to you in great detail prior to receiving verbal and written consent from you to proceed, I recommended FMD (full mouth debridement) for you on that day and then SRP during future appointments to treat the significant gum disease you have experienced already at your very young age. You have a very advanced case of periodontal disease for someone your age (and you have advanced root resorption) and I was simply trying to help you avoid further consequences from your various dental problems (aka periodontal disease and orthodontic root resorption)
Furthermore, when the board or anyone else reviews your slanderous complaints against me they will quickly see large calculus bridges across all your lower front teeth which is the exact indication for recommending FMD. we handled your case perfectly and you are insane for claiming that we somehow treated you in an unethical or immoral manner. Your comments are amusing but also disturbing due to the level of psychopathy that appears (in my opinion) to be present.

4)
my office is composed of humans and we sometimes make clerical errors. thus someone managed to make the simple clerical error of sending two cleaning procedures to your insurance . We accidentally sent FMD (full mouth debridement) and prophy to your insurance company because someone simply made a clerical error. This is an obvious clerical error because everyone knows the insurance will never pay for both. Furthermore, it is an obvious clerical error by my front office because if you simply examine the consent form you signed it is evident there that I placed the following procedures at the top of your conset form: FMD, Perio SRP for all 4 quads, etc etc.. I never placed prophy on your consent form and yet I did have FMD and perio srp on it. Thus it will be very obvious to any observer that I clearly consented you on the need for FMD and perio srp but I never recommended prophy. Thus when prophy was sent along with FMD to your insurance company that was a simple honest clerical error.
All insurance companys will pay for either FMD or prophy. So this is an obvious simple and honest clerical error and noone was trying to scam your insurance company  for the additional $30 that is paid for prophy. It is amusing for me that you would think that considering how amazingly successful and productive my office is. We make so much money each day that its amusing someone like you would think we tried to intentionally defraud your insurance company for an additional $30 prophy cleaning.  This is all quite amusing for me and I have very little concern about your various complaints about us.

5)
my office immediately noticed the error and immediately began the standard protocols we have for correcting errors on our insurance claims. we make mistakes all the time and we quickly work in earnest to correct them. this is human nature. I am sure you think that you are perfect and never make mistakes but my office acknowledges that yes we sometimes make clerical errors.
We have reached out to your insurance company (or will soon do so) to simply ask them to refund any fees paid towards the prophy and instead process the FMD which you were carefully consented on prior to initiating the FMD cleaning. At that time they will probably deny the FMD benifit and then you will be responsible to pay the fee for the FMD according to the financial agreements you signed in the consent forms. As I explained in the courtesy text message I sent you previously, you will receive 3 invoices for any additional fees  you may owe (FMD fee) and we will expeditiously send your case to the collections attorney in florida to deal with your credit reports accordingly if you fail to pay these fees. If your insurance company denies the FMD claim we sent them then we will send you an invoice for that fee.
We never know how the insurance company will behave but after receiving all your complaints I checked your chart and noticed that you have a history of FMD in another dental office and unfortunately your insurance company typically pays for only one FMD per lifetime. Thus, if your insurance company denies our claim for FMD then you will be justly and formally responsible to pay that fee. If you fail to pay then we will work to thoroughly hold you responsible for that fee using the collections attorney that we employ in florida to deal with your credit reports etc.

I sincerely hope you can deal with this in a more logical manner moving forward. Have a pleasant day.

Review: When I worked in Reston, VA last year (2012), Dr. [redacted] at RTC Dental made a crown for one of my lower left teeth, which was strongly suggested by her when she did teeth cleaning for me in the clinic. In fact, I didn't plan to have any crown before she suggested. The date I received the crown was Nov. 28, 2012, and it was instantly made in the clinic. I found this crown broken on Nov. 19, 2013 when I brushed my teeth in the morning. It was within one year! I didn't use the crown much for chewing during this period. I have seven crowns made by other dentists. All of them last many years and now are still in good conditions.

I live in [redacted], Canada, about 600 miles away from [redacted] VA, so making another visit to Dr. [redacted] for repair was not a practical option, and more importantly, I did not feel confident to have Dr. [redacted] work on my tooth again. I wrote to RTC Dental and sent the broken crown's pictures on Nov. 19, 2013. Dr. [redacted] (Dr. [redacted]'s brother) answered my emails and insisted the breaking was caused by bruxism. It's the first time I heard about bruxism. No dentist had told me I had this disease, including [redacted], who was my dentist in year 2012 and had x-rays of all my teeth. As described above, all of my other seven crowns last many years although I use them every day. Dr. [redacted] said the crown would protect my tooth for long and it wouldn't hurt during the operation when she suggested the crown. The fact is: It hurt a lot when she inserted the crown and the pain last a few days. The crown she made broke within a year and left my tooth open. I have to spend more time and money and suffer the pain again to have another dentist redo it. After a number of email exchanges with Dr. [redacted], I was told Dr. [redacted] had left RTC Dental and opened a new clinic called [redacted] Reston, and I should talk to her for a solution. So I called Dr. [redacted] on Nov. 26 and told her what happened to the crown, then asked her for refund, as I would need to have a local dentist redo the crown. She first promised she would talk to RTC Dental and get me back on the following Monday (Dec 2nd), but I had not heard from her till I called her again on Dec 5th. On the phone, she kept claiming she didn't get any information from RTC Dental so I would have to talk to RTC Dental for the solution. She then hanged up on me. I called her again, she said she’d check with RTC Dental and call me back Friday or next Monday. But until today, I haven’t received her call. Obviously, Dr. [redacted] and Dr. [redacted] pushed me away to each other. I feel extremely disappointed about RTC Dental, not only because of the breaking of the crown, but also the fact that the doctor is not honest. I also feel very much frustrated with the ongoing process while suffering from the crown loss. I visited a reputable local dentist in [redacted] and he told me he had seen some cases of instant-made crown breaking, and the quality of that crown was not good. He also said usually the dentist would make full refund for such incident because my insurance and I paid for a workable crown but not a broken one.Desired Settlement: Full refund including the portion I paid and the portion paid by the insurance company [redacted]. Apologize to me for their poor performance.

Response:

This complaint is untrue. The complainant has slandered me and my office.

She has written multiple slanderous online complaints about my office and I will fight this abuse.

I have already documented the slanderous complaints she wrote. I have also documented the emails in which I offered her every possible courtesy.

Thus, I will hold her responsible for slandering me and my honorable dental office.

There are laws to protect people like me and I will retain an attorney to litigate this matter.

Sincerely,

Dr. [redacted]
