Thank you ***Most of the delays are from the $K dollars of extra work that needed to be approved , some of the quality gets addressed in the progressive matter of building rough drywall ,stucco ,painting cabinet and doors and casing get installed and then the sub-contractors come back
and do a final touch up at the end At the end of the day on a final walk through there was only rekey the house to match all exterior doors The customer is happy with the new home after a very major fire Thanks again hope this clears it up ***

To whom it may concern, On 4/10/2014, Restoration Construction Company, “RCC”, Went into contract with the customer to replace the roof.  We were paid in full for that particular job.  On Dec 3, we received a call that the patio was leaking.  We responded to this call and found...

that where the main asphalt roof ties into the corrugated metal patio, the original size flashing that was there prior to us removing the roof was not wide enough for the heavy driving rain. We removed and replaced it with a wider flashing.  We were then called out for a second time and covered the roof in plastic and sandbags, in the general area of the leak.  We installed a new [redacted] vent cover, and the leak was solved.  We informed the customer we would be leaving the plastic and sandbags on the roof because we were unable to test the leak while it was raining. She was assured that we would return to test the roof when the weather permitted such action.  We need to be able to control the water so that we know where the water is coming in from.    The next time we contacted the customer to make an appointment for testing, she informed us that the roof was repaired by another roofing contractor. We asked what the repair was, so that if we made a mistake we can learn from it. The customer stated that we cannot have the roofers name, number, or paperwork. She would settle for us to pay the bill of $2,400.00. RCC was not given any options, leaving us feeling cheated and manipulated. Due to the fact that she had just lost her husband, RCC felt it was best to go ahead and pay her the $2,400.00. We paid an installment of $1,250.00 (CHECK# [redacted]), with the rest to be paid the following month. When we were scheduled to pay the final balance, the customer stated that the total bill was now $10,000.00, and refused to return our equipment. The equipment that the customer is withholding from the company rents out at $27.50 per day per piece of equipment.  RCC has not had access to our equipment for 210 days, which would be $11,550.00. We will seek some kind of restitution for this as well. RCC was denied the inspection and approval, in essence destroying any evidence as to what was damaged, or why the roof was leaking. We feel this removes us from the liability of the old roof, as well as the new roof. Under California civil code # 917, customers are required to notify the contractor in writing and allow us time to inspect and evaluate any claim of substandard work. This opportunity was never afforded to RCC, so we are forced to rely on the opinion of a competitor since we do not have the building department’s inspection report from the customers roofing contractor.  RCC has installed thousands of roofs, in which not one has leaked until now. We wanted to know why and what happened as well. We trust the Revdex.com to facilitate arbitration between RCC and the customer regarding this dispute.Sincerely,[redacted]Owner, CEO

I am rejecting this response because:Hired RCC: [redacted]. He's retainer $2,500.00 after the roof was done, we had a dry summer, but come x-mas week 2015, heavy rains. Not only 3 leaks in the main house, but 2 in the sun room. They put up plastic and sand bags - still leaked for 3 days - they set up to fans to help dry the floor and rug. They went up 3 or 4 times - The leaks cont/ for 3 day, when it rained. I had no other choice but to hire some other roofer. 2 bids were : [redacted] roofing and [redacted] Roofing. [redacted] was the cheapest. I hired him, he finished 2-18-16. No more leaks. Oh! I don't think he asked who I hired, but I told him, mainly because [redacted] charged only $5,805.00. [redacted] offered to pay me that amount, rather then the $8,457.05 rather dumb offer. Oh! [redacted] did say it leaked because there was nothing under the shingles. No sealed felt, so he said. [redacted] said same thing. After I said I was told the retainer was suppose to be 10%, he refunded me $1,250.00 March 19, 2016. Oh! check your files with restoration cont. co. I'm the 4th in 4 years to file claims against him, right? Oh! what about arbitration? Called 3 or 4 times letting him know I wanted the fans out of the house, but no one would come get them. Even said if they would come I would leave the sun room unlocked, they are in the way. Besides my ally also at [redacted] office said to get them back. What am I suppose to do, deliver notice I left messages on 2 numbers [redacted] Oh! Don't know anything about that $10,000.00 crazy.

The story continuse to change ever time there is coraspondance . We need the Revdex.com arbatraction to start so that we are able to resove this. Just today we reached out to go pick up our air movers the first and only time we were told to come get them she would not allow us to pick them up .

Review: Contractor is not performing construction work in an acceptable quality of construction. Very poor quality of workmanship.

This is a single family residence that was involved in a major fire. We signed a contract in May 2015 and was to be complete in 4 months. It's now 8 months later and work is not finished and quality of construction is unacceptable.Desired Settlement: Hardwood floor must be replaced, Bedroom wall should

be removed and replaced due to water damage. Many imperfections with the workmanship.

Response:

Thank you [redacted]

Very bad management. They remodeled our home after a fire. The job took months longer than they quoted. Because it was contracted through our insurance they continually over billed. Terrible work, we call them the caulking kings. Warped Sheetrock, bad tape and texture, smoke is seeping through the walls now, not one room in the home has completed work. Our insurance will not talk to them and refuses to work with them. We are stuck with an unfinished home and now they are billing us for additional costs yet they have never submitted a final invoice to our insurance or to us. Tried state licensing board but they won't persue because the contract was not with us but with our insurance.
