Restoration Contracting, Inc Reviews (2)

I received this letter from a law firm on behalf of the
first contractor, “Restoration Contracting, Inc.” that American family brought to my home
to do repairs after the fire.  He is...

requesting the full amount of his
bill in which most of his work had to be redone because it was not done
correctly in which American family is aware of and approved.  Being that I have all the emails,
photos, and inspection reports I feel he is not due any payment for the items
that needed to be re-done. Then by him not sealing up my second story we had
the additional water damage which should also be deducted from his amount as
well. I am also going to get quotes
for the scratched up walls in my master bedroom due to his carpet installation
which should also be decuted from his bill as well as the poor roofing install
that he did.  The new contractor had to replace the roofing on the back of
my garage but I did not have him replace the front due to improper
installation.  To have to tar up a brand new roof is unacceptable.
The new contactor was walking up the valley and he had nails come up right
through the new shingles due to them not being nailed down correctly. Also
having to replace step flashing that was not installed correctly as well as
putting gutter apron on that was not done.  Also in one area he never put
any on and nailed the gutter back on without any apron on it and the shingle’s
where below the gutter height above the roofing material.  This too may
have caused some of the water damage that we had during the rain storm in which
we had the additional damage. By doing this the shingles will not be covered by
the manufactures warranty.  We are hoping that some of them will seal down
after we have some warm days but with this time of year it maybe something that
we hope will happen in the spring.  Also the cost he is charging for the
window was a window that was not the same size as well as being a vinyl window
in which we had a wood and aluminum which is called out on your original scope
of work.  The window that he installed is a $89.00 window from menards and
to be charged hundreds of dollars for this is wrong. Then for having to replace
tires on my vehicle due to the contactor leaving nails and other items on
my driveway.  During the period that he was performing work at my
residence We had 3 flat tires in which one of them could not be repaired and
had to be replaced.

I was forced to have my lawyer send a letter because Mr. Mecikalski would not return calls or respond to e-mails.
On 7/21/14 and 7/28/14 I sent e-mails letting him know I would work with him on the dollar amount owed to me.
Even with Wisconsin’s right to cure law I was not given the opportunity to address his concerns, but I’m willing to work with him on the amount.
I also never saw any of the engineer reports or a scope of work that had to be redone.
