Review: Formal complaint regarding lack of notification previous to change in management from Results to [redacted], the improper way member accounts were transferred to another company without notification/choice for members, and the negative impact of this change to members, which includes: reduction to only one DC location, change in service standards related to maintenance, products used, classes, and failure to fulfill hours of operation.Desired Settlement: • Results should apologize to all members for the way the sell/transfer of the downtown location was done and for transferring accounts to another fitness company without having notified and offered alternatives to members, particularly to those using both locations, which they could have easily identified by looking at their scanned ID records.

• Members identified as users of both locations should have access to both facilities until the end of the year (according to membership agreement at signing) to compensate for the way the sell/transfer was done and the way those accounts were improperly handled.

• [redacted] should properly inform new/Results members of the new management, how they operate, and how they plan to keep service standards, and the implications for employees working previously with Results (insurance, notification, etc).

Dear **. [redacted],

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to respond to the complaint received. The information provided by **. [redacted] is correct. Results Gym’s Downtown location was acquired by [redacted] on 1 -16-14. As is standard with this type of organizational/ownership change, notice cannot be given until the deal is completed. This deal closed very late on 1-15-14 and notice was immediately emailed to all our members. The email was also followed up with a mailing to notify and explain the transition. Members were presented with no changes to their monthly rate or access for almost 4 months (April 30, 2014) to allow time for them make a decision as to which company and location they will ultimately decide to continue their membership with. Most of our memberships simply require 30 days’ notice and no cancellation fees. Allowing 12 months of continued access between companies as **. [redacted] suggests is not possible.

Operationally Results cannot be held responsible for the decisions & actions of [redacted] since they took over- if she is unhappy with the services they provide she should discuss it with them.

Finally, it is not our policy to discuss human resource issues with people outside our organization. Most Results employees were offered an opportunity to either stay with the new owners or transfer to our [redacted] location.

I understand she is unhappy about the transition but I am not sure how it would have been handled better. I have also included the email exchange between **. [redacted] and my General Manager.
