Revdex.com & *** ***,
Please let me start by stating that I do apologize that you are experiencing a hard time. I understand that you said you reached out 3x via email. My emails come directly to my phone so that I can always provide an immediate response however I do
not have any record of email contact from you. I have attached in this response the copy of your membership agreement. In this contract it states and is specifically initialed by you that in order to cancel the membership you need to send a letter via certified mail to ABC financial. As a courtesy I do allow members to come in and cancel with me however I cannot guarantee when I will be in the office. I am typically in the office 50-hours a week, however sometimes things do come up. The Friday that you referred to in your complaint for instance I had to go down to borough hall. Today I am scheduled for 11-however at some point in the day I will be gone a few hours to go to staples. If coming in to see me is not convenient for you then I will ask that you please opt to send a letter to ABC Financial as your contract states. Their address is ** *** *** *** ** ***
If you would like to cancel your membership you would need to provide a certified letter to ABC Financial. If you post mark this letter before June *** I will not charge you a final payment. You can also come in before June *** and see me, however you need to schedule an appointment so that I can make sure I am here for you. You can email me directly *** or you can call me at ***

Review: I moved 1/*/14 which is at least 50miles for a Retro Fitness which is grounds for cancelation of membership. I asked while in the gym on 1/**/14 to cancel my membership because of the move. They instructed me to call there billing department at ABC FINANCIAL. I Contacted them regarding canceling and they Instructed I could only cancel in store. Having moved it wouldn't be 2 weeks until I was able to get to Retro Fitness to tell them that ABC Financial has instructed me to cancel in store once more. So I have two people at both retro fitness and billing ABC Financial that I playing me back and forth. On that last visit to retro I finally received proper instructions to cancel my membership. I complied to there process and via a letter to request cancelation and proof of move. I still continued to get billed. I was contacted by [redacted] about the bill and he said he would wave all late fees if I would just pay. I explained to him the situation and had reviewed my account and still is trying hold me accountable for a EXTRA months membership fee. Even though they provided misinformation for a month before giving me the correct canceling information.Desired Settlement: Total Bill with canceled membership should be $32.22 not $64.66.

Review: I have contacted this business in writing via e mail 3 times telling them I no longer want to continue my membership in this gym and instructed them not to charge my credit card anymore for monthly dues. I have received 3 responses via e mail that someone will contact me---no one did. I called and was told that I must speak to the [redacted], [redacted], in person. I explained that I work, attend grad school full time and am in a band, therefore it would be difficult for me to come in (precisely why I am ending my membership). I was told that I MUST come in person. I was told the [redacted] was there mon-fri 10am to 7pm. I called (Fri. May *,2014) to make sure the [redacted] was there before I took off from work. I was told she left early, at noon. They charged my credit card yesterday, May *, 2014 again!!! Why do I have to jump through these hoops to get them to STOP charging my credit card? I explicitly told them both in writing and verbally that they do not have my permission to charge my credit card!Desired Settlement: I want a refund for the charge on May *, 2014 and I want them to STOP CHARGING MY CREDIT CARD!

Review: I haven't gone to the gym for about two years due to a injury ,I recently called to cancel and was told I needed to call a billing company to do so,they told me I needed to send them a certified letter with a reason for my cancelation ..which I did.A few days later I received a email from them stating that it takes two months to process my cancellation and I would incur any fees within those two months..which includes a annual fee.I called up and was told that this is policy and was laughed at when I told them that I stopped comming due to injury. And also in there advertisements its $20 a month ..no mention of a annual fee.Desired Settlement: Waive the money they think I owe and let me cancel

Stay away from this gym. Overpriced and terrible cancellation policy.

Review: I am an avid gym goer, who has belonged to several different gyms on [redacted] for the past 7 or 8 years. All of these gyms are actually pretty popular in the [redacted] area, as well as the USA as a whole. I recently moved, and wanted to cancel my gym membership at Retro Fitness. I was told to do so I had to see a [redacted]. After several trips to the gym over the past two months, I still have yet to be able to find a [redacted] there. After multiple phone calls, I have been told the only way to cancel is to send a letter certified or come in an see a [redacted]. The thing is though, at 12 noon on a Saturday or 5 pm on a Tuesday night -- there has been no [redacted] there! I do not know why this company has no regard for individuals busy schedules, jobs, or frankly, their hard earned money. After speaking via email through the [redacted] of Operations for SEVERAL Retro Fitness gyms, they stated that they had changed their policy and it wasn't just a [redacted] who could cancel a membership. Then in another email, this same gentleman told me that it was only him and the assistant [redacted]. Contradicting his earlier statement... I now am out about $40 bucks so far and I am also going to be out another 6 for sending a letter via certified mail. This might not be a huge amount, but in this economy, little things add up! I would not suggest anyone who cares about their money or their health to go to this gym. It's not worth the stress. Spend 39.99 on a better gym with better service and better cancellation policies.Desired Settlement: I would like my membership to be canceled and all of the dues for May, June, and July to be paid back to me. I would also like contact information for Retro Fitness Corporate.

Review: I signed a 1 year contratct which expired. The policy stated in the contacts was that after expirtation I will continue to be charged monthly fees on my credit card unless I follow the cancelation process. The process consist of sending a certified letter of cancelation to Retro's billing agent ABC Financial, which I did twice. Upon that nothing was done and I was continually charged monthly. I spoke to a rep at the club at the location and another rep via email and still nothing was done. They told me that I had to send a third cancelation letter. I refused to do it, claiming that I don't have confidence that the company will accept my letter and cancel my account. What I must do now is dispute the charge every month on the card.Desired Settlement: I would like the acount closed

Review: I have a condition called scoliosis with a severe disc degeneration and a lower lumbar spine with congenital defect. that prohibits me from exercising. Today I visited the gym and spoke to Genifer who refused to cancel my membership due to my illness. No other person was available to help me and no business cards available. total avoidance. I do not what contract freezes.Desired Settlement: termination of gym contract due to illness. NO early termination fees. NYS allows members to cancel due to disability.
