I purchased a Bourbon Barrel stave designed to display Blanton's bourbon stoppers from Revelry Boutique Gallery on November 7,
The gallery sells items manufactured by others
Before making the purchase, I spoke to the manufacturer of the stave I wanted a plain one (not stenciled "blanton's") and she advised me that the only availability of a plain one before Christmas would be at Revelry Boutique Gallery
The manufacturer stated that the item would be more expensive than the price that it was selling for at the time I originally saw it at an art fair this fall
The manufacturer stated she would be delivering it on November 8th to the gallery if I wanted to go ahead and pay for it so no one else would buy it as only one was still available for purchase
I did not remember what the original price was at the art fairThe manufacturer neither told me at that time what that original price was, nor what the price was to be at the gallery
No discussion was had as to the actual price to be paid at the gallery
With that, I thereafter went to the gallery The gallery advised the price was $which came to $with tax
I paid the $with a credit card
On November 8, 2016, I received a text message that the item was in stock However, they could not allow me to take delivery of the item for the price I had already paid
A mistake had been made and the price instead was $
I asked the gallery to honor the price I had already paid in full, and the gallery refused my request
I then asked for a refund, which they provided
After that, I went to the manufacturer's website and located the same item, which sells for $on that website
In an effort to compromise and bring this to a reasonable closure for both parties, I offered to pay the full $
That was also refused
$was the price
I declined
After I declined and expressed my frustration to the gallery about how the matter was handled and that I would be filing a Revdex.com complaint, the manufacturer called me and told me during that call that the price at the art fair in the fall was $
I stated in that conversation that I would do as I saw fit with bringing either a small claims court action or filing a Revdex.com complaint
I terminated that conversation when the manufacturer said that neither a small claims action nor a Revdex.com complaint was available to me once I accepted the refund
I now believe the manufacturer is likely correct about the Revdex.com complaint process
