Review: Around August 2014, I contacted a company by the name: R&J's Flooring, [redacted], Phone number [redacted], Owner Sandra Stimeling, about installing laminate flooring in my mobile home. They were professional all the way with a contract stating just what they would do. I furnished them with a sample of the flooring and pattern they were to install. After several weeks, the flooring began to buckle in several places. When walked on it was so thin it felt like walking on cardboard. They came out and looked at it and said my furniture was to heavy and was causing it to buckle. That didn't make since as I had a previous installation in other rooms of my mobile home by another flooring company and never had any trouble. The truth is they used a lighter grade of laminate and not what I gave them a sample of. Now the laminate is separating where they butted it against my previous installation.I've called for them to come and look at it now and they ignore my request.Desired Settlement: Redue the flooring in the master beedroom with the proper laminate.

Customer called us for a estimate on install of Laminate Flooring, we went out to his home and gave him a price on replacing with the exact laminate flooring that he had done previous, in other parts of the home. Explained to him his furniture was to heavy for that, Customer said that would be fine that's what he wanted, the same exact flooring throughout entire home. He gave me the model number and the name of the company that carried that type of flooring. I called that company ordered it and they shipped it to [redacted] we went and picked it up from the freight carrier and delivered it to the customers home due to a tractor trailer isn't allowed on [redacted] or get into and out of a mobile home park easily. That flooring sat at his home 3-4 days before the install. He went out of town. When he returned we went and done the installation of the laminate flooring that was ordered per customer exact request. Customer was very happy with the flooring and no problems so I collected the remaining payment that was due.Customer called several months out from date of installation and into winter and said that the floor was buckling and I went and checked all the quarter round and all openings to all door ways, and it had the proper room for expansion, I explained again the floor was doing this because of the older heavy antique furniture that was in there wasn't allowing it to expand as needed due to the temperature outside. Customer stated that his furniture was inherited and he wasn't replacing that. We talked about replacing with real wood so he wouldn't have this problem and was to call me and I would have a estimate ready for him which I never heard from him until this complaint, he doesn't have the older antique furniture through out his home, so that flooring can breath like its suppose to. Real wood is nailed down and it's permanent, does not move, and no matter what weight is on it stays in place. Laminate Flooring is the thinnest out of Engineered and Real Wood and isn't fixed down so it needs to move around in different temperatures.lf the customer wants to ¡nstall real wood all he has to due is call us and I will fix him another estimate.Thanks,R&J's Flooring

Response to R & J flooring, (NEVER) was hard wood flooring ever mentioned. I wanted laminate. The weight of my furniture was never brought up except when they took measurements. Her husband, who does the work, said he would have help moving and lifting the furniture as they installed the laminate. When I called about the problem, she came to my residence and the weight of the furniture was (HER ANSWER TO THE PROBLEM) . I asked her if they sent the wrong laminate and she never really answered my question. A previous installation two years earlier in the living room has never been any trouble. As for the buckling, it has corrected itself. However, where they butted to the previous laminate installation, I now have (5) 1/8 inch gap in each seam. All I'm asking is to correct the seams which would only require adjusting. However, she says she will call back and give me a time but never calls back. Now she wants me to call her. Come on, I'm her customer. If the are reputable she should call me!

To whom it may concern,We have followed through with all wishes of our customer and the proper laminate was put down with proper seems and butting to the edge of other flooring around everywhere, customer was told options at the time of the estimate and he still chose to do the laminate, if that's what the customer wants that's what we do! We told him about the antique furniture being to heavy on a floating floor And it will not allow it the move like it's suppose to. (Example) youcan't put 5,000 pounds on a laminate floor in a 20.20 room and expect the floor the float cause of the changing temps of the different seasons. A lot of people goes with the laminate flooring because it's much cheaper to put down thanReal Wood which is nailed down and fixed and don't need to move for types of weather.* We are no longer in business as of 10/2/2014lD# [redacted]Thank'sR&J's Flooring

They claim to be out of business. I can see why. They will just open up under another name.

Review: They came to my and tore out part of an old hardwood floor and put down 3/4" plywood. In the process they knocked my water heater out of place and now it wobbles. I called them and they said they didn't touch it and basically, it's my problem. Now I will have to pay a plumber to come out and remove and reset my water heater. VERY Unprofessional.Desired Settlement: I want R & J's Flooring to pay for the plumber.

[redacted] I talked to [redacted] at [redacted]. While it was nice that they paid the $150.00, that did not pay the bill. I told them several times " Do not touch the water heater". The mistake was their mistake and they have not corrected the problem. Until they pay the total bill for correcting their mistake I will not be satisfied. They tried to move the water heater and left it leaking. " Do Not Touch The Water Heater" !!!!!!!!!!!
