Review: A third party was driving my car in the snow storm of Feb. *, when she went off the road on Noxon Road and hit a tree. A tow truck from RG Auto, not called or requested, swooped in and towed the car without permission, and despite specific instructions from the driver that the car was absolutely not to be towed. The reasons for this were, first, the car was entirely drivable. The police officer on the scene confirmed that it was, there was no radiator leak or broken lights, it was entirely drivable. Second, had it NOT been drivable, my insurance needed to authorize and/or assign the tow. This RG Auto tow driver was told to do nothing until I confirmed with Allstate. I was on the phone with the driver and Allstate when the RG Auto tow driver violated instructions, and took my car. I offered to pay $75 for this entirely unauthorized service, however, RG Auto held my car for ransom, in essence, and would not release it without $175 payment for a service that was neither requested, needed, nor authorized. I have reported the company to Allstate who will conduct their own investigation, and I will pursue the matter in small claims court, not because it's so much money, but on principal. This company practices accident chasing -- listening to police scanners and showing up as a way to force their services on people, whether they are needed, or wanted, or not. It's so important that other people beware of this type of predatory practice by RG Auto.Desired Settlement: I offered $75 for the assistance on the scene (pulling the car out of a stuck position). Since towing was denied and rejected by us, we should not have to pay for it. They were not allowed to tow the car but did so anyway and then forced me to pay for it, under duress, so I want the $100 back, if not through Revdex.com assistance, then through court.
