I was very impressed with his work and attention to details.

I entered into a contract agreement with [redacted], dated on June 10th 2016 and signed on June 18th, 2016. I received the first progress payment on that date.  There is no agreement on a completetion date and no specified start date. However, as stated in email message the...

start date would be July 1st 2016 and the contract has "generalized time window of approximately 12 weeks." e also discussed  the fact that I would be out of town in late July. That week is not considered a production week as per the generalized time frame. If you add 12 weeks to July 1st, that makes the time window from July 1st to October 1st. [redacted] locked us out of the job for 2days and at that time I informed him that if he did that it would add 2 weeks to the project as I would have to reschedule material delivery and sub contractors. Gven the non production week and the additional 2 week delay caused by [redacted], this puts the time window at October 21st. We were well with-in the generalized time frame window when [redacted] decided to stop making progress payments. I want to point out that I have no contractural  obligation to complete the project in a any timeframe as time is not of the essence. The contract is very specific on when the progress payments are due. I had a painting contractor scheduled to start and requested the progress payment. He refused to make payment and I had to cancel the painting contractor as the contract states that that payment is due before the painter starts. By [redacted] actions, he has caused a breach of contract and I have filed a lien statement with Douglas County Assesors office in the amount of $21,600 plus costs and interest at 12%. I fully intend to perfect the lien and start the foreclosure process to enforce the lien. As per state law, if I am successful, the court will order the property sold to pay the lien. [redacted] has one last chance to make payment in full and if he does, I will reschedule the painters, electrician, and plumbers to finish. [redacted] will also have to fully cooperate with me and sign several change orders.I think I can finish the project in approximately 2 weeks as long as we have full access to the job site and no more interference from [redacted]. I would like to address some of the details of [redacted]s complaint, however due to the time limit I will not be able to do this at this time.
