Purchased A/C and furnace in April Condenser coil goes bad first of June Part is under warranty but due to lack of inventory we had to wait weeks for the part to be made, then it sat on a truck "waiting to be filled" before it left Carolina, then had to make several other stops before arriving in Mo After several calls to RUUD we were basically told it was out of their hands and they made no apologies for the problem Part was installed at OUR expense of $ Just year and days later the same thing happens, coil goes out in the exact same place RUUD customer service explained "it's covered" True, but the part was just replaced and the unit is only years old We were told the part would take "about a week" to get to us We heard that the year before so of course were skeptical Again, we would have to pay for labor/freon, etc at a cost of over $ RUUD customer service blames the defective coil on our neighbors shooting it out with a B&b gun and when I explained that was impossible they then said it was due to our dog urinating on the coil causing corrosion First of all the defect in the coil is two feet off the ground, secondly my dog has 8" legs and squats so she could never "reach" that high and thirdly, she is a dog with no opposable thumbs to take the cover off the unit in order to "hit" said coil with urine I asked if there was a "lemon policy" and was told no RUUD said they could take the defective coil and test it but it is our word against theirs, meanwhile we would still be out of a coil and have non working a/c unit during the middle of summer RUUD made no offers to have the part expedited, cover the cost of repairs since this is the second time it broke in years and pretty much made every ridiculous excuse to point the blame at us There was no offer to rectify the problem, no apologies, nothing RUUD makes an inferior product and their customer service is appalling A year old unit should not have to have a coil replaced yearly
