*** *** is a former resident of *** ***She lived in the community for years and terminated her lease effective March 31, Her complaint involves the refund of a security deposit, which *** *** mistakenly believes she paid in the amount of $650.00.*** ***’s April 13, 2000, receipt, which she attached to her complaint, shows the source of her misunderstanding about the amount of her security depositWhile *** *** did indeed pay $on April 13, 2000, $was payment for rent; $was payment of a security deposit, $was payment of an electric deposit and $was payment for trashThis clearly shows the misunderstanding.We have conducted an internal investigation to confirm our understanding of *** ***’s April 13, 2000, receipt and found the original list of security deposits provided to us in July of 2008, just before settlement on the propertyThat list also indicates that *** *** paid a $security deposit (see page of attached list).Having confirmed the amount of security deposit to be paid, we mailed payment in the amount of $on May 4, The amount paid represents a refund of the security, electric and trash deposits totaling $350.00, and years accrued interest at 2.5%Check number *** cleared our bank on May 8, 2017; a copy of the cancelled check is also attached.We therefore believe this matter is resolved, and apologize for any inconvenience or confusion that may have ensuedThank you.Sincerely,James P.Chief Operating Officer
