Rhino Chip & Tar Reviews (11)

On Monday, March 14th, it was agreed that Rhino chip and Tar would be out to finish and take care of the problems (via text msg)That would therefore have been the work week of of March through 25thWe never heard a word, never received a text nothingHe said I should have called himI do not feel the customer should be responsible for that when the last communication was that he would call me a day in advance before coming that next weekTherefore, I figured I was stood up, so I filed with the Revdex.com [redacted] did contact us per his reply on the Revdex.com but it was only AFTER he saw that we filed a complaint.? He seems to be focusing on the low spots, which, of course there is a problemAnd yes, the contract does not say “fill in low spots” We had areas where the concrete was all busted up and sinking [redacted] and I discussed this prior to them starting work so no, it was not written in the contract but it was an agreed upon discussionMany of the current low spots, dips and rolls were created by his equipmentBut the real issue here is that the contract DOES say that he will apply a 2” overlayI have drilled holes randomly over the entire drive way as well as edging along the side and measuredThere are many spots that the asphalt is only ¼ or ½ “deepI would guess that 80% or more of the drive way does NOT have 2” overlayTHAT is a problem and a breach of contract[redacted] also keeps accusing me of wanting something for freeI just want the 2” overlay that I have already paid for to be 2” preferably without equipment rolls and dipsAlso they need stamp down along the edges as that is basically loose asphalt and also clean up the areas where they dropped and left small piles of asphalt in the yardLastly, there is a sizeable area on both ends of driveway that have no asphalt at all.Their website clearly states that “we hold customer satisfaction in the highest regard.” “we will provide only an expert quality job”While they were here, my wife asked [redacted] about coming back and filling in areas at a later date and he said “yes, ma’am, we warranty all of our work” Well, I have not had that experience what so ever and if my “small” job that [redacted] says he doesn’t need, doesn’t matter to him, he should not have bid on it in the first place. In the Revdex.com response, he also talked about coming to get a core sample from the driveI want to be notified of such an event as I want a witness to the procedure and to the outcomeI have plenty of pictures to prove he did not do a 2” overlayI welcome a mediator or Arbitrator to get involved in thisAny person from the Revdex.com is welcome to come and inspect themselves if they wish.?

I don't know what legal action *** is talking aboutHe has threatened lawyers yes, but otherwise I have rejected WHAT? I am done going back and forth with this company and request mediation at this time.Philip Valentine

We don't agree with the fact that they have tried to solve the issue times or the fact that there is a cure time for the tar to settle The driveway was completed the first week of January and it is now April and it has not been fixed They came out to view the driveway time and they agreed there was not enough tar put down and that they would come back out to repair it Every time we text our contact person he tells us that we are on his list to have it repaired and then we don't hear anything from them until we text him again It seems to us that they have no intention on repairing the driveway if at this point it is still not fixed Also, we are not complaining about the whole driveway just a few sections where there was not enough tar put down to hold the gravel (which is causing the wash-boarding) They have told us that they would repair the driveway and at this point that is all we want We feel like we have been very patient with them and we felt like reaching out to the Revdex.com was our next step to getting our driveway repaired If they honestly have intentions on repairing our driveway we would have thought they would have told us exactly when they would be at our house instead of us consistently having to reach out to them.About the cure time, when they completed the driveway they did not advise us that there was a certain amount of time before we could drive on the driveway and they did not advise us that we need to maintain a certain speed or the gravel would wash-board We did not hear about the speed issue until after we started complaining about the wash-boarding

On Monday, March 14th, it was agreed that Rhino chip and Tar would be out to finish and take care of the problems (via text msg). That would therefore have been the work week of of March 21 through 25th. We never heard a word, never received a text …nothing. He said I should have called him. Therefore, I figured I was stood up, so I filed with the Revdex.com. [redacted] did contact us per his reply on the Revdex.com but it was only AFTER he saw that we filed a complaint.  He seems to be focusing on the low spots, which, of course there is a problem. And yes, the contract does not say “fill in low spots”. We had 3 areas where the concrete was all busted up and sinking. [redacted] and I discussed this prior to them starting work so no, it was not written in the contract but it was an agreed upon discussion. Many of the current low spots, dips and rolls were created by his equipment. But the real issue here is that the contract DOES say that he will apply a 2” overlay. I have drilled holes randomly over the entire drive way as well as edging along the side and measured. There are many spots that the asphalt is only ¼ or ½ “deep. I would guess that 80% or more of the drive way does NOT have 2” overlay. THAT is a problem and a breach of contract.[redacted] also keeps accusing me of wanting something for free. I just want the 2” overlay that I have already paid for to be 2” preferably without equipment rolls and dips. Also they need stamp down along the edges as that is basically loose asphalt and also clean up the areas where they dropped and left small piles of asphalt in the yard.
