come back in due to sealer wear on the garage floorAt the time, my foreman noticed that no cleaning had been done through out the year as recommend in the garage floor systemWe cleaned the floor and re-applied the sealel' to the floorAt the time we reviewed the cleaning requirements to let the sealer last as long as possibleWe also reminded the home owner that this is a sealer and would need to be re-applied every to years or sooner if there is wear on the materialThis summer Mrs*** ccmtacted us several times and we told herthat we would drop off sealer for her or her family to re-apply or they could go buy some themselves. After several rude messages, we have stop communication due to the negative attitude and conversationsAt this point, the project is closed on our end and this is a home owner maintenance issue similar to any other project that requires periodic up dating. We feel we did a quality job on this re-seal and dispute any issues with the slab. October 6, 2015Attention: *** *** ***Better Business BuxeauBryant Woods SouthAmherst, NY 14228Re: ***Dear *** ***This is another follow up letter to the letter we received from the Revdex.com on October 1, Mrs Bekemeyer has sought out an ex-business partner in Rhino (by no means does that person represent Rhino Concrete or did he "work for Jim")Her statement about his level of expertise is falseThe reason he abandoned the company was due to his continual lack of commitment to detail and his quality of workmanshipLast I was aware, he worked for *** *** *** and did side jobs to make ends meetHe does not have a stand alone companyAt no time did an actual Rhino employee cut corners or "water down" a productRhino always uses commercial grade products and follows the installation procedures recommended by the manufacture of said productsAgain, the resulting effects of the floor is due to lack of maintenance by the home owner. I will re-iterate from before, we feel we did a quality job on t his re-seal and dispute any issues with the slab. If you have any further questions regarding the site review, please feel to e-mail them to me at [email protected] or call the office at 585-586-1510.Sincerely,James BoyceRhino Concrete, LLC

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Other than the dates, his statement is false and in
accurate. This summer I called Jim several times and POLITELY asked him to
inspect our floor again to assess the problem. He said he would come out to look
at it and leave
a gallon of sealer. He did not show up or call to reschedule at least 5-6
times. I finally decided to contact another Rhino representative (someone who
did my sisters floor and who she highly recommended). He came out immediately and
explained that he used to work for Jim with Rhino but decided to leave the
company because of constant complaints of poor customer service, faulty
workmanship, and warranty issues, like my own. He now works for himself and told
me the sealer on our floor appeared to have been ‘watered down’ before application
and that is why it failed to hold up as it should have. It was NOT a cleaning
issue.

This is a follow up letter to the letter we received from the Revdex.com. We performed work for Mr. [redacted]during the 2014 construction season (over 3 years ago). We installed a polymer modified concreteoverlay system in Mr. [redacted] garage due to the severe pitting and poor quality of the top surface (Ihave...

attached the proposal for review). We never stated to Mr. [redacted] we would be applying an epoxycoating on his floor. We do offer that as a solution but his floor was too pitted to perform a qualityepoxy surface. The final process of our overlay is sealing with a colored concrete sealer. We did stateto Mr. [redacted] numerous times this was a maintenance item and would have to be reapplied every twoyears if he wanted a consistent look to the floor. We did return to site once the following year totouch up a few eireas where the sealer flaked off (standard for this material) to try to maintain aworking relationship with the client. We feel we did a quality job on the polymer concrete and this is evident in the fact that the epoxycontractor that Mr. [redacted] hired could apply his product on our product. If you have any further questions regarding the site review, please feel to e-mail them to me atinfo("'rhino-concre to.com or call the office at [redacted].Sincerely,James B[redacted]

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]I have reviewed Mr. [redacted] response and it is true that I was not smart enough to demand epoxy which is what I wanted. Mr. [redacted] convinced me the surface he put on would stand up for at least a year (it did not). He sent an employee to come back once and fixed some shoddy concrete work but do not remember doing anything with the paint which has pretty much disappeared. The concrete is again broken up and there is a low spot on the bottom left part of the floor which accumulates water. It is not true that the new contractor can epoxy over the work done by Rhino concrete. The bulk of the cost of the rework is grinding away all of the pealing paint. I paid Mr. [redacted] $2,400 for this job and initially trusted him. He also promised in the spring of 2015 to be first on his list to repair the shoddy work but did not show up nor answer my phone calls or e-mail. I have seen jobs done by reliable contractors for far less money which still  look good after several years. I am sorry to be so  long in replying but I have been out of town and did not feel comfortable replying using my phone. Mostly I do not want some other poor customer to have the same results as me. Mostly I have been satisfied with the contactors I have hired  and frankly was not as careful as I should have been. Bob [redacted]

In response to your recent communication; unfortunately, at this time the work is no longer covered under the origional warranty. Please understand that problems ocurred within a few months of the origional work and continue beyond the first year.  Rhino was contacted within the warranty period and I was told the sealer they used was defective. Unfortunately, the reapplication of sealer has produced the same defective results. I have attached two photos of the garage floor for your review. Thank you again for your continued assistance with this matter.Sincerly,[redacted]
