Review: Larry Rhodes is Unlicensed and Uninsured.On 08/28/13, I signed a contract with Rhodes Fence and Deck [redacted] Rhodes to install a cement patio with a two wall enclosure and roof.The patio was installed at the rear of our home. A existing wooden deck needed to be removed prior to installing the cement patio. He was paid $7,200 to complete the work. The work was not completed. Our yard was damaged by the cement truck. The truck put 10x 4 inch ruts in the lawn. Also, a large piece of cement that was removed during the deck demolition is still sitting in our yard and needs broken up and disposed of.Per the [redacted] Township Inspector and a reputable Construction Company in [redacted], the patio was installed incorrectly as follows:No flashing was installed between the house and concrete to keep water from getting into the house.All of the seams on the spouting are leaking.The concrete was pitched incorrectly. Pitched from right to left instead of from the house out. This mistake is causing water to run into and puddle in the patio and against the wood trim inside the patio. The wood trim is not pressure treated wood therefore will soon rot with the water issue.The roof was installed incorrectly. The boards were placed on the roof vertically instead of horizontally causing the roof to dip. Used a hand cut regular shingle on the hip part of the roof instead of a hip shingle.On September 21st, we had a substantial rain storm, thats when all of the water issues were noticed. I have pictures as proof. I notified [redacted] Rhodes about the issues and sent him pictures. He never responded. He is completely ignoring our pleas to fix the issues. In the meantime, we got an estimate from a reputable construction company to fix the issues with the patio. It will cost us $4,700 to fix the mess he made.Desired Settlement: In conclusion, I would like a full refund of $7,200 in order to tear up and re pour the concrete and rebuild a new patio enclosure.
