I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I called another repair shopExpertec and the price they charge to replace the starter is and they also mentioned that if I have AAA I will receive a 50% off which the total cost will be including labor and taxes. Now, when I took my car to Honda on 7/24/The next day on 7/25/they did a World Class Inspection of the whole vehicle and on the list of recommendations or repairs it doesn't say anything about the idle valveThen, trust same day when I wento pick up the car as soon as I srtarted it the check engine light came onI went back to the office and told David Larsen about itHe called a tech to come out yo check the carThis the hoy guy did a five minute inspection and had the audacity to say that it was nothingHe said" it's a windshield wiper leak" that's it nothing to worry about it and reset the check engine lightWe left the placeHow come he didn't do a through inspection and how come he said that and never mentioned anything about the idle valve. The next day when I started the car the light came on againBesides, the car wasn't running well and lurching and doing weird noisesI took back to Honda and they wanted me to pay for each diagnosisAfter I told Lily that it wasn't right because when I took my car there it didn't have any of those issuesI knew they did something to the carShe talked to the manger and he decided to waive the diagnosis fees but I will have to pay for the repairsI took the car back home and decided to bring it back to Honda in the morningThat is when they came yo me saying that they found the issue with the idle valve and that I will have to pay but that they will give me a 15% discountSo they charged me that outrageous price for changing the starterThen, while changing it they damaged my car and now I have to pay for their mistakeI refused to leave my car and I decided to ask a private mechanic to come home and check the carWhat he found out was that of course they damaged the car they chiseled one part causing the faults and they left this valve looseI have the pics to probe itI am also attaching all the invoices and the world class inspection they did where they never mentioned the idle valve They are dishonestThere are multiple reviews on yelp of other customers who similar things have happenedAnd there is also a warning sign alerting consumers to be aware that most of the positive reviews are fakeThey can't continue taking advantage of people and there is no accountability for their faults and the poor service they provide and management doesn't seem to careThey only care about your $$$$$$They have no shame here

The customer has come into the dealership after posting complaint and to the best of our knowledge we have resolved any and all issues regarding this matter

The customer and I finally were able to talk. He will call to make an appointment to bring the vehicle in to have the loose piece fixed and to remove the Skylink. We will refund him the difference in price of $

The customer bought out her vehicle through another lender, *** *** *** ***, not through the dealership. She received title from Honda Finance which she needed to send to her new lender. If she mailed it and the credit union never received it, Norm Reeves Honda, Honda Finance
and the DMV would have no way of knowing that in order to notify her of it. That is an issue between her and her credit union.Having said that, we are happy to (and our DMV clerk is currently) help(ing) guide her through the process of getting a statement of lien satisfied but we cannot reimburse a late fee or pay compensation for stress that is not our fault

The vehicle was a dealer trade from our sister store and had already been repaired without our knowledge when we received the vehicle. The scratches that were repaired were on the left front bumper and under the dollar limit that would have to be disclosed to a customer even if we
had known about them. They were also unrelated to the right front door rubbing on the right fender. We had a body shop readjust the right fender so there would be no more rubbing. The body shop confirmed this issue was unrelated to the paint work on the left front bumper. Because of this I do not feel giving the customer a free extended service contract is warranted. We have fixed the issue and even offered to sell the customer an extended service contract at our cost (without any markup). I feel that is a reasonable resolution to the customer's concern.-*** ***General Manager*** *** Honda Superstore Huntington Beach

Ms. [redacted] came in yesterday and signed a new contract.  We believe that she is satisfied at this time.

As previously stated, the vehicle was a new vehicle that had a scratched bumper which was repaired to industry standards.  The fender adjustment was unrelated and also properly repaired.  Our offer to sell the customer an extended service contract at our cost still stands.  We don't feel any further consideration is warranted.

This is [redacted] I made a complaint on Revdex.com and the message was sent on 5/14/15. I tried calling your number but there was no answer so I would like to write you an email to follow up the whole incident. This is about my Honda Accord purchase at you dealership on 4/11/15. The VIN# for the vehicle is [redacted].First, when I was giving the sales consultant, [redacted], my personal information, he made an unnecessary comment about my income, which was unprofessional and disrespectful. Next, when I was paying for the car with finance specialist, [redacted], he was pressuring me to purchase the SkyLINK tracking device by putting the unwanted extra cost on the bill. He finally took it off of the bill after I insisted not to purchase it. So then, he left the finance office briefly to make sure the technicians removed the SkyLINk in my vehicle. Everything should be set before I was given the car keys to drive off. After a weekend, [redacted] started calling me continuously, claiming that the SkyLINK tracking device is still left inside my vehicle and that I must go back to your dealership to have it removed as soon as possible. This to me, is an illegitimate reason and very inconvenient for me to drive all the way back for. In addition, there is a unknown plug hanging inside the plastic cover under the steering wheel. The plastic cover is now loose and makes noises when driving at certain speeds. It looks like a damage from removing something possibly the SkyLINK. The driver's side window also makes noises as if it is loose when rolled down at certain levels. Only this window has such problem. Moreover, the selling price changed from $15,491 to $14,990 online just a day after the purchase. I had asked [redacted] to give me the best price and I could not get an explanation for this $501 difference. I felt cheated about the purchase. I have attached the screenshots before and after the price change. I have also attached one of the many voicemails [redacted] left me after calling me everyday for the past few weeks. The overall purchase experience is already unpleasant and the numerous phone calls from [redacted] make it even worse. Please reply to my email or give me a call back. Thank you!

There was no resolution offered from [redacted] Reeeved Honda HB, they only repaired the door problem which they were solely responsible.  Regardless of the amount of damage sustained, [redacted] HB advertised the vehicle as brand new when in fact it had been in an accident.   We did not want to buy a vehicle that had been hit.  If we had known, we would have negotiated for a better price or purchase the car at a different dealership.  We want a price adjustment on the vehicle and or an extended warranty should additional problems occur with the vehicle in the future.   Sincerely[redacted]&[redacted] Regards,

This vehicle has 143,000 miles and 14 years of service history elsewhere. The only things we did on this vehicle were to replace the starter and change the oil. Idle control valves are an electronic part that can fail at anytime and commonly do on vehicles older than ten years or over 100,000 miles. My shop foreman of 20 years here at this location is the technician that did the work. He is a very trustworthy and highly qualified master technician. The starter price we charge is for a genuine Honda starter that comes with a nationwide 3 year or 36,000 mile warranty. Who knows what Expertec what quality of a starter they would put on the vehicle. They are a small shop that has a single location. Most shops only offer 12 month warranty at their location only. You pay for what you get. I feel that we have no responsibility in the failure of the idle control valve on this vehicle.  Tell us why here...

The customer inflated the price they paid for the starter. The $820 included a minor service, the starter was $728 plus tax. The average price for a starter replacement in our area is $436 to $1065 (per the Repair Pal website) The prices vary depending on the quality of the...

starter and warranty provided. Ours is backed by Honda nationwide for 3 years or 36,000 miles. The average is between those prices is $751 plus tax. Our price is fully in line with the prices charged in our area for a starter replacement. The check engine light came on the next day and we diagnosed it at no charge to make sure that the problem wasn't something we caused. Our policy is if it is possible that we caused a problem then we just take care of it. The diagnosis of the code for the check engine light turned up a defective idle control valve. It's an electrical component that can fail without warning at anytime. More typically after a vehicle gets over 10 years old or over 100,000 miles we start to see these fail fairly often. Carbon buildup inside the valve can also cause them to fail but that takes years also. This vehicle is 14 years old with 143,000 miles on it. We checked the wiring and connections to the idle control valve to be sure we didn't disconnect it somehow even though the idle control valve isn't near the starter that we replaced. There is no way we had anything to do with the idle control valve failing. Final conclusion: our price is fair on the starter and there is no way we caused the idle control valve to fail. Tell us why here...

If I'm understanding this correctly, this complaint appears to be a new complaint with the service department, not a rejection of our response on the last complaint with the sales department. In regards to this complaint, if we did get oil on the customer's windshield or window, it was a mistake not retaliation.  We would be glad to clean all of his windows and replace his wiper inserts if they have been damaged in any way by a mistake we made. I don't see any value to either of us in sharing the name of the employee, even if we knew who might have made the mistake. Sincerely, [redacted]General Manager

This is the first I've heard of this incident.  I would like to speak with the customer directly to get more information.  I can be reached by phone at [redacted].Sincerely, -[redacted]General ManagerNorm Reeves Honda Superstore Huntington Beach

When I paid Ms. [redacted] indicated that the mechanic indicated something wrong windshield wipers. The mechanic left : Synthetic oil on driver's side window. If he used the windshield wipers with oil. If rains will cause smearing. Left driver's side window dirty with syntetic oil. Car was not like this when I brought it in was not like this. This dealership has lots of negative reviews on : Yelp. Desired Outcome:Request the name of the mechanic who worked on the car? Plus the name of person who placed synthetic oil driver's side window ? Was it a person from sales. Possible retaliation? Calif. Labor Code:[redacted] ?
