We called Richard Adams this morning regarding a roof leak that has given us problems for years. Our roof would only leak when we had a steady hard rain from the west. We have had a few other contractors out to repair this particular leak over the years, costing us hundreds of dollars each time and the leak never seemed to get repaired 100%. Richard was at our house @ Noon as promised and was shown exactly where the water was entering our home. He immediately went to work to find the source of the leak by observing the interior and exterior of our home near the site of the leak. A leak test was performed on the exterior roof area of our home and within 15 minutes the source of the leak was discovered. It turns out the water was running down the fascia and the wind is forcing the water behind our siding thru cracks/separations in the caulking and trim piece separating the siding from the fascia. The fix will involve simply removing any old caulking and sealing the seam with a good quality silicone sealant. Richard could have just as easily told me the entire roof area had to be replaced (as had been done twice before unsuccessfully) but chose to deal with me honestly. After dealing with many builders/contractors/service personnel in my 37 years in Florida, Richard Adams gets my vote as the MOST HONEST contractor I know.
