Richard Felser Company Reviews (4)

April 25, 2017Revdex.com of Western Pennsylvania400 Holiday Drive, Suite 220Pittsburgh, PA 15220RE: ID# [redacted]Dear [redacted],The customer called us after the siding installation was completed stating she had water coming in her electric box. Her electric box is mounted to her block foundation, we did...

not remove or touch the box at any time. We immediately sent the original installer out to inspect the cable that runs into the box. No “puncture” was found anywhere on the cable that runs into the box. After re-caulking the meter box, the customer called stating she was still having an issue. We specifically told the customer that if it was our responsibility we would take care of it. We then hired an electrician to troubleshoot her box/cable. His professional judgement was that the issue was arising from where the cable meets the box. He sealed that area. Again, no “puncture” was found anywhere on the cable.Since this complaint was filed we sent both the electrician out again and another siding mechanic. The siding mechanic inspected every inch of the cable from the electric box to the gable peak, pulling up each clip that holds the cable. There are NO PUNCTURES anywhere on the cable. The conductor head at the top of the cable is installed correctly as well. Both the siding mechanic and the electrician sealed the gaskets and the area where the meter/cable enter the house with silicone. All of these areas are unrelated to our siding installation. We hope the additional sealing resolves the issue.RegardsSheila S[redacted]Office ManagerRichard Felser Company

Review: We had a roof done in 2004 and we had some leakage and we called them to come out and repair. We made numerous calls. Someone finally came out and said the roof was not done right. So he said he tried to fix it but it continues to leak and we have water damage in the house.Desired Settlement: Replace or repair roof and they should replace the damage from the roof on the inside which includes 3 bedrooms and a kithen ceiling.

One of oux representatives spoke with Mrs. [redacted] after the Revdex.com complaint was filed. This job was installed 9 years ago, in 2004. It is difficult to determine what the actual cause of the leak is.

In an attempt to resolve the complaint, we have offered to replace the entire roof at our cost. We would also upgrade the [redacted] s to a lifetime, dimensional shingle instead of the 25 year, 3-Tab shingle they currently have.

Review: We had a roof installed in 2004 and also soffit, fascia, and downspouts and one window. The roof started to leak onto the front porch and we had called Richard Felser company and they came out and said some nails where not all the way down around the flashing or shingles and applied some caulking and fixed a couple of nails. We have since found out that the roof has been leaking probably since installed as it has now damaged our porch roof, living room and also our family room ceiling. Our family room has a drop ceiling and we had noticed some water damage on the ceiling tile and when we removed it the original family room ceiling has damage and when it rains water is actually dripping inside and drips onto our front porch directly in front of the family room and has washed out the mortar on the bricks. In addition to this we paid to have ice and water shield installed as underlayment for the shingles and have had two different people come out and look at the roof and there is only felt paper underneath the shingles and also there is not any step flashing under the shingles at the dormers of the home and the flashing has been nailed on top of the shingles for the chimneys and sewer pipe and is leaking. We originally called about two years later when we started noticing water damage to our home and we where told that their labor warranty was only a year from the install date and then we called back to see if there was anything that could be done they sent a gentlemen out and this is when he applied the caulking and fixed the loose nails which they said was the problem but apparently did not resolve the issue.Desired Settlement: I would like the roof to be replaced and put on correctly and all damages to the ceilings and porch to be fixed from the leaks.

On Tuesday May 20th, Ms. [redacted] is scheduled to meet with our foreman and a roofer to go over her issues and write up a report to fix the issues.

Review: In 5/07, we contracted with Richard Felser company to have them install a deck to our house. We ran into a series of issues from the start of the process. We worked with [redacted] from Felser to design a two tiered deck. The plans were created and agreed to on 5/26/07. Construction of the deck did not start until late September, 3.5 months after we agreed to the design of the deck. I met with the builder to schedule the installation of the deck. During this meeting, I asked several questions about the process including how would the deck be secured to the house so that it would not move away from the house. I was very concerned about the deck sinking or moving from its original position as the deck was going to be installed on the top of a hill. I was assured by the builder that the footers would be a minimum of 36 inches deep as well as the deck would be lag bolted to the house and concrete pad. At the completion of the first day of construction, the builder had incorrectly installed the footers for the deck. The design I had agreed to, was not the design that the builder had for my deck. Construction had to stop while I waited for [redacted] from Felser to come out and meet with the builder and myself. The first meeting between [redacted] and the builder did not even include me. I was brought in a few days later and I was told that my plans were wrong. After many discussions, they finally agreed to build the deck to my specifications - the ones agreed to in June when I signed the agreement for the deck. At the completion of the construction, they tried to have me pay a $500 change fee for the deck as they continued to insist that the design agreed to in June was different than what I wanted to have installed. Over the course of time between the installation and now, the deck has started to separate from the concrete pad - as I had originally feared. There is not a lot of separation but enough to have the railing for the staircase to separate, the siding of the house to sag and the deck to have about an inch of space between the frame and concrete pad. It was very apparent that no effort was made to secure the deck to the concrete pad as I had wanted. Two attempts to contact Felser to discuss and find solutions to this problem has resulted in no help from Felser. Both times, [redacted] and the builder have come out and stated that there was nothing they were willing to do. I had asked for options and the only option provided was to pay them $1500 for them to install additional footers to which they would not guarantee that it would help with the issue.Desired Settlement: I am looking for a reasonable solution to this issue from an experienced builder. I am looking for legitimate options to remediate this situation. To date, through my efforts to contact and discuss the issue, no such options or help has been provided to me from Richard Felser company.

July 1, 2015 RE: ID# [redacted]Dear [redacted]: Please refer to the original letter and pictures we submitted on May 30, 2014. The deck issues are entirely related to the eroding hillside. As a courtesy to the Revdex.com we agreed to help the [redacted], while stipulating that our workmanship was not the cause. The work we agreed to perform was addressed. The rail was an additional issue that arose while adding reinforcement to the deck/hill. Material for that new work would need to be ordered. We explained we could not fit that into the schedule until the 2015 season. The installer will be back to address the rail when he has completed the several large projects that were on his schedule. We will again, as a courtesy to the Revdex.com, take care of this issue at no charge to the [redacted]
