it. He did not pay for the changes and said he would take care of it. Two years went by and he withheld the monies owed and during the two years never made any payment. After two years he emailed me and said the work was an absolute disaster and to remove it. I spoke to him on the phone and told him the job had been signed off by the inspectors. He did the demolition of the interior of the apt without a permit. He wasn't allowed to get one when he applied because he did not have a contractor. He decided the work that was done was completely wrong even though the design was accepted as correct including the size of the unit. My remodel project is properly permitted and a GC is properly in charge. That issue was addressed and resolved long ago. All rough inspections have passed. My new HVAC tech just had his inspection on 12/9/15. I spoke with the building inspector at length about my project and he confirmed to me that Mr.[redacted]'s work was never inspected, although there was a permit pulled. We  had asked Mr. [redacted] to redesign the system when it became clear that the ductwork was too low and would partially block the  master bedroom windows. Mr [redacted] was absent for most of the installation, and is doubtless unaware of the substandard workmanship of his crew, which I have already detailed in my initial statement. Both my contractor and I made photos of the defective work. Removing and replacing Mr. [redacted]’s work was not a decision I took lightly, and pains were taken beforehand by my new HVAC contractorto bring it into compliance. Mr. [redacted] was paid all monies he requested. He lowered the final payment to adjust for unused materials. When I pressed him to repair the problems with his work, he abandoned the project and told me to keep that final balance and fix it myself.
Regards,
[redacted]
