I told [redacted] about the tile and I let him see it in my shed before he and [redacted] agreedI took a sample to [redacted] they both liked it and agreed to use itThe tile was not used it was left over and still in the boxI was not going to charge them for the tile but they wanted to pay me for itWe looked on line on [redacted] web site on [redacted] s PC all of us [redacted] still had them in stock and was the same price, so they gave me the money for the tileThey did give me $for the rest of martials and a partial payment for the jobI had shown them pictures of the job That the tiles were left over from ,They liked what they sawI had no problem with that previse tile job, They called me back to perform more work [redacted] and [redacted] were disagreeing with each other about the there tile job, about who wanted whatAnd before they changed there minds [redacted] took me around his house to show me other projects he needed help withand if I didn't perform the tile work I was to help him with the other projects, and the money he gave me would go to the other projectsI agreedI was Honest and upfront with [redacted] and *** [redacted] texted me a couple of days later saying the job was canceledDid not say whyI thought I was going to help with the other projects he told me about instead I found his complaint on the Revdex.com,If [redacted] had this much of problem why did he not come over to my house to tell or call or email me there is no reason for what he is doing , I have always been easy to get along with

I am saddened that *** wrote a complaint meWe have lived across the street from each other and friendly for over years.I have performed work for *** and his wife *** in the past with no problems.If he had a problem with me all he had to do was tell me We had a lot of talks and laughs
over the years.*** had said to me he wanted to tile in his kitchen, I told I had tile left over from a kitchen job from last summerI showed *** and *** the pictures and tile they liked what they seen*** wanted the hole wall tiled *** just wanted the top half .They agreed tO do the top halfThe top half was paneling*** did not want to take the paneling off , I told him I could sand it down and it would work I have done in the past and it works, Sanding down the panelingI was not going to charge tem for the tile but looked at like I was a nut*** went to his PC how much it cost ,was the same priceAnd *** *** still had it in stock if we needed more.*** and *** gave $#in cash to get the rest of the materials, This was on a Saturday That Sunday I went to Lowes to pick up the mortar and color samples for the grout

We decided on the 2nd or 3rd day that we did not want the job doneWe asked for our money backBy law, we have daysWe wanted to give him his old tile backHe first estimated the job, as I asked for, $I told my wife and she said OKQuickly he adds on material, etc., and that it could be more, depends My wife is filing a small claims court action but I'd rather just accept the lostMy wife is CEO of one of our businessesOur lawyers do all the work and filing for us but, by law, we have to give him days to return the moneyI know why *** kept the moneyHe had a bill to pay and gave us old tileHe even told my wife he had a bill to pay! I asked for a receipt for new tileInstead, we got some old tile hanging around from some other job that didn't work out*** does not listen, has trouble communicating, and from now on, if not on *** *** or *** ***, we are not considering off the wall contractors like his companyI had trouble reading his reply and do not know of any "hole in the wall!" We found out on our own you do not put tile over panelingHe is absolutely wrong to say that you canHe never told us we had to remove it firstHe has lack of knowledgeMy fence we had to do over and all my neighbors never gave me a good reviewI never had *** estimate a job beforeNow, I never will. I thought nothing went down, so by law we have days to get our money backHE DID NOTHING! I also asked specifically I wanted NEW TILE with a receiptI called him up to make sure he understoodNO, he did notI wanted my money back on the 2nd or 3rd day due to his lack of knowledge of tiling and we lost confidence I cannot even return the tile because we have no receiptThe deal was we buy the material and he does the job for $We let him buy the tile and he was supposed to subtract the rest from the $costHowever, when we found out checking with our main business other contractors, we found NO ONE puts tile over panelingSo, we wanted our money back We don't need a reasonHe's had people call us as a reference in the past*** use to be a nice guy but ***, my wife, wants nothing to do with his services anymoreHe even indicated that if we changed our minds, no problemWe changed our mind the 2nd day and told him right awayThere was more work, over $10,of more work but I've contracted with other contractors. I can't believe that he would jeopardize future jobs with $of a job we didn't really want because you don't put tile over paneling, period! He has less knowledge than us how to do tiling, apparentlyWe are no longer friends and we were never friends, just neighbors If taking money and not returning the money when a customer changes their mind is his business model, it's not a good one, especially when the customer like us is in social media and has a very large email list, in the millions, and marketing websites because he will be blacklisted

We did not get our money back from the first job never started, $- the grout, about $where we had a receipt from ***The tile we cannot return because he never bought us new tile, as we asked, just some used tileWe did send one voicemail and two texts and emails we have as proof, no answer on the 2nd dayWe have a right to cancel any job by law within daysWe do not have to give him a reasonOur lawyers will take it from here. *** lost credibility with usEven if we get our money back this last job, we will not do more work with Richard's Handyman Services
