Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:This is not in keeping with the scope of work that earned them the business and it is a clear attempt at offsetting costs incurred from the damaged garage door$2,more than my other estimate for the same work? months to deliver that fraudulent bid? Simply ridiculous. I will move forward with completing the project on my own but my complaint grows strongerThe failure to acknowledge & address legitimate concerns with where this project stands is extremely frustrating.
Sincerely,
*** ***

While I appreciate the effort I'm confused why my complaint is being designated as simply "dissatisfied"? My project is incompleteThe company is delivered a fraudulent bid to offset damages incurredIf I was merely dissatisfied I wouldn't have gone to the Revdex.com, I just would not have used the business againI am left with an eyesore on my home and am investing my own time to explore other options as a result of Richards Roofing practices. They certainly are not acting as the A+ business they seem to pride themselves onIs that because this process doesn't actually hold business accountable? The company simply out waits the Revdex.com knowing an unresolved complaint gets turned into a whiny customer review? I actually thought the Revdex.com would mediate in a way that worked towards a solution both parties can live withAgain, Richards Roofing has their money and I have an incomplete project

In response to Mr. [redacted]’s rejection of our proposed solution to his problem, we stand by our original offer.   The offer is to return to the home, replace the roofing materials only on the front porch after carpentry work is completed by a carpentry contractor, with no charge for our labor or materials.  Incidentally, we had made this offer prior to him contacting the Revdex.com in an effort to curb his disappointment in the situation.

See attached.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/07/27) */
We never informed Ms. [redacted] that we would not take care of her issues. After she cancelled appointments we made with her, it was quite a while before she finally allowed us to have our superintendent and a repair foreman meet her at the house....

When our superintendent started to explain why he thinks the roofers performed some of the items like they did, she started calling them vulgar names, and screamed at them to "get the [redacted] _ off of my property." At that point, he did what she said, packed up and left the property. We have since made an appointment with Ms. [redacted] for Friday, July 31 at 7:00 a.m. for one of our foreman and myself to meet her and AGAIN try to investigate the situation, and make a list of the items we need to take care of. At that time, we will be video taping the roof views, along with her response to our personnel as well as her response to our findings. We will then present our specifications to her. If she would like us to perform the specifications according to our workmanship warranty, she will be asked to sign off on them.
We will send the Revdex.com an update of the situation after Friday's meeting.
Thank you,

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
- There was no solution
proposed.
- I have received one additional bid for $1000 for a similar solution. A second
bid is in...

progress but they want to conduct a second visit after having some
additional questions. I appreciate their thoroughness and in hindsight regret
that Richards Roofing did not spend more time in their initial bid for the
project. Perhaps the $3,500 cost or their inability to repair would have been
addressed avoiding this situation.
- The initial bid in
April absolutely involved repairing the front porch. We had additional phone
calls on it as was a key factor in my decision to move forward with the roof
repair this year. It was said to be a small repair the Richards Roofing team
was capable of handling. +2 months later and bids of $3,500 & a revision to
$2,200 go beyond the time and materials notation in the contract. I had to call
numerous times to even get those inflated bids. Richards Roofing essentially has walked away from the front porch element of the project that again has been paid in full.
-Based on the initial
bid and conversations throughout the process, the contract line “Masonite
siding repair at front porch/house junction to be performed on a time and
material basis” indicates some level of work was included in the bid if not the
full scope of work. I fully understand the contract verbiage pertaining to the
roof that if plywood is damaged once the roof is exposed there may be
additional costs. Once again however, the front porch trim was a key item
discussed during the bidding process.
- The "fact"
that the roof work was completed before I was notified of Richards Roofing
inability to complete the work make the offer to replace the front porch roof insignificant.  The primary purpose of selecting Richards Roofing was to their
ability to install the roof and fix the front porch at the same time. That not
only has not happened but has required me to seek out & take off work to
explore other options. Richards Roofing made the decision on their own to roof the porch before I was notified the siding could not be done. The offer to come back and lay the roof again should have no financial impact as it should have never been done until the siding work could be completed. Once again, I went with Richards Roofing to complete the roof and front porch repairs to ensure the completion of one didn't interfere with the other.
Yes, my complaint
involves a great deal of disappointment but this is strictly a financially
based complaint. Whatever the reason, I am left with a front porch that is
actually in worse condition as the one side was removed during the roof
installation.
While anxious to have
completed, a good faith effort is not being made to fulfill the written and
verbal commitments that earned the business.  Richards Roofing has their money in full, I have an incomplete project.
Sincerely,
[redacted]
