Dear Sir or Madam: I am the owner of Richardson's Pro-Tax Service and am answering the letter you e-mailed to [redacted] At some point mid-March I was contacted by this woman who was demanding that I fire [redacted] because he had "argued with her and had disrespected her." She went on and on about how she had given [redacted] her son's direct deposit information so that his refund could be direct deposited into his checking accountHer phone call to me was after she had been calling my office in StCharles five or more times per day since mid-February, yelling at anyone who answered the phone that "she wanted her money back because [redacted] didn't do her son's taxes right." Finally, [redacted] had had enough when the woman said she was going to call me and have him fired -- He told her to go right ahead and see if she could accomplish that Anyone would become sick of this woman calling and disrupting business that many times a day during the busiest time of the year [redacted] explained to her that if the refund did not go into her son's account, it would be mailed out to him in the form of a check written on the U.STreasuryI tried to read the complaint this woman filed with you and had a very difficult time understanding it The grammar and sentences in this complaint are incomprehensible I am assuming that this is some sort of "neighborhood slang" that only the welfare-grabbing, ignorant, ghetto-dwelling residents would understand This sort of language is not used by responsible people in polite societyAfter attempting to understand what this woman is saying, I am answering as best I can I understand that this woman insists that [redacted] did not add this child's deposit information to his return before it was e-filedl I was not involved in the conversations [redacted] had on a daily basis with this woman, but I am aware that a tax refund that doesn't get deposited into a taxpayer's bank account is immediately paid out in the form of a check which is mailed to the taxpayer's address used on the returnSince this woman says that her son has still not received his refund, I checked the IRS' website online and found out that the refund was actually paid out on FEBRUARY 22, Therefore, one of two scenarios in relevant: (1) When the son filed his tax return with us, he lied about where he actually lives and the check should have gone to another address; or (2) the mother lied about the son getting his tax refund and is now attempting to get the tax preparation fees back fraudulently I cannot forward a copy of the IRS' refund page because it contains part of the son's social security number, but if his mother had at least an IQ of 50, she could have found this out herselfIn addition, the tax preparation fee for this child's return was ZERO, and since you can't refund ZERO, there will be no refund Also, I am not refunding any portion of this woman's tax preparation fee for any sort of disrespect "Disrespect" in this case is a term used by an ignorant person who can't even speak enough of her own native language to make people understand her This person had driven the employees in one of my offices crazy with her phone calls and visitsI am considering this matter closed and hope this person and her son go somewhere in the ghetto to file their taxes from now onI would never fire an employee for something like this -- I would reward them for getting rid of a menace [redacted]

I have reviewed Ms***'s complaint and am replying as requested My office was contacted by Ms [redacted] during the last few days of Tax Season, Ms [redacted] told one of my employees that she had taken her own individual return to another accountant and that he had also reviewed her father's return Ms [redacted] said the new accountant said I had made an error on the return and that it should be amended There was no other information given - just that I had made an error on the return - no amounts of money; no amounts of income; nothing - only that I had made an error on the return and it needed to be amended My employee told Ms [redacted] that, since it was so close to the end of Tax Season, I would not be able to investigate, review, or take any action regarding this issue until sometime in the middle of May and that she and her new accountant could either write me or e-mail me with the specific p***lem Ms [redacted] refused to do so Instead, she began calling our office requesting that I prepare this amendment right away and basically harassing my employees During one of the last telephone calls she made to my office, Ms [redacted] mentioned that there was an issue with federal tax withholding on the return I checked the Forms 1099-R that were given to us and the withholding was the same as reported on the return Therefore, I put the matter aside until after Tax Season was over - until sometime in the middle of May when I would have time to further investigate On April 17th, Ms [redacted] appeared at my office and said that she was there to "make" me prepare and amendment for her father's tax return and that she would not leave until she had spoken with me I told my Office Manager, [redacted] , and my Operations Manager, ***, that I did not have time to speak with her that afternoon and that if she did not leave the office within ten minutes, I would call the O'Fallon police and have her removed I figured that if Ms [redacted] needed an amendment prepared for her father's return as a rush service, she could possibly ask her current account to amend it for her She finally left my office When I received your letter this morning, I looked into the matter further and found that on the SSA-issued by the Social Security Department, there was withholding of $3,on the social security payments made to her father during tax year This amount was not shown on the return I preparedI have prepared a Federal Form 1040-X which is a federal amendment to Mr***'s tax return and mailed it off to Ms [redacted] for her signature Filing this return will generate a refund of the $3,withholding left off the original returnThere will be no apology forthcoming since Ms [redacted] refused to acknowledge the fact that she had waited until my firm was operating at its busiest time, the end of Tax Season, and then harassing my employees by telephone and in person Ms [redacted] was extremely rude to my employees and wouldn't listen to what they said She decided she was going to harass us into doing what she wanted, when she wanted it done, instead of accepting my offer of further investigation in May

I have reviewed Ms***'s complaint and am replying as requested. My office was contacted by Ms*** during the last few days of Tax Season, 2017. Ms*** told one of my employees that she had taken her own individual return to another accountant and that he had also reviewed her
father's return. Ms*** said the new accountant said I had made an error on the return and that it should be amended. There was no other information given - just that I had made an error on the return - no amounts of money; no amounts of income; nothing - only that I had made an error on the return and it needed to be amended. My employee told Ms*** that, since it was so close to the end of Tax Season, I would not be able to investigate, review, or take any action regarding this issue until sometime in the middle of May and that she and her new accountant could either write me or e-mail me with the specific p***lem. Ms*** refused to do so. Instead, she began calling our office requesting that I prepare this amendment right away and basically harassing my employees. During one of the last telephone calls she made to my office, Ms*** mentioned that there was an issue with federal tax withholding on the return. I checked the Forms 1099-R that were given to us and the withholding was the same as reported on the return. Therefore, I put the matter aside until after Tax Season was over - until sometime in the middle of May when I would have time to further investigate. On April 17th, Ms*** appeared at my office and said that she was there to "make" me prepare and amendment for her father's tax return and that she would not leave until she had spoken with me. I told my Office Manager, ***, and my Operations Manager, ***, that I did not have time to speak with her that afternoon and that if she did not leave the office within ten minutes, I would call the O'Fallon police and have her removed. I figured that if Ms*** needed an amendment prepared for her father's return as a rush service, she could possibly ask her current account to amend it for her. She finally left my office. When I received your letter this morning, I looked into the matter further and found that on the SSA-issued by the Social Security Department, there was withholding of $3,on the social security payments made to her father during tax year 2015. This amount was not shown on the return I preparedI have prepared a Federal Form 1040-X which is a federal amendment to Mr***'s tax return and mailed it off to Ms*** for her signature. Filing this return will generate a refund of the $3,withholding left off the original returnThere will be no apology forthcoming since Ms*** refused to acknowledge the fact that she had waited until my firm was operating at its busiest time, the end of Tax Season, and then harassing my employees by telephone and in person. Ms*** was extremely rude to my employees and wouldn't listen to what they said. She decided she was going to harass us into doing what she wanted, when she wanted it done, instead of accepting my offer of further investigation in May
