I understand my customers concern over the vehicle that was previously servicedI pride myself on my work and would love to provide my side on this matter.? We agreed to meet on November 25th so that I could diagnose the vehicleUpon completing the diagnosis, I identified various codes that
indicated primarily intake manifold issuesAmong these were codes that indicated the care was in lean conditionA smoke test uncovered leaks in the upper and lower intakeAll of the codes and issues found were recorded on the invoice and reviewed with the customer and we signed off on the repairsI was told that another technician usually serviced the vehicle for him in a different state and initially recommended taking the vehicle back to the person who previously did the work but? was told that it was to far to take it backDuring my thorough inspection of the vehicle, I saw what looked like previous work on the intake manifold but a job in which someone did not prep and clean the vehicle properly when doing that repairNevertheless, we agreed on moving forward with the necessary repairs.? Once the repairs were complete and the vehicle test driven, the customer picked it up and took itThis was on December 15thI received a call from the customer who told me that the check engine light turned back on, so I asked if he could bring it back in but he told me he would be going on leave and could not bring it until after he was backOne February 20th, the vehicle was brought back and during the diagnosis I discovered new codes that did not come up on the reading beforeThese codes showed a cylinder misfire due to a faulty ignition coilAlso, the intake clips came apart due to being old and brittleAs a courtesy to the customer, I did the diagnostic, purchased and replaced the ignition coil and intake control runner clips on the driver side at no additional cost to the customerAfterward, I recommended that the customer also replace the clips on the lower intake, unreachable without about hours of laborThese new problems arose after the initial set of repairs and I happily took care of a portion of them as a courtesy. With that being said, I believe in doing business in a fair way and value my clientsI feel that I adequately catered to my client during the entire interaction.?
