Richmond Memorial Parks Reviews (3)

Review: I have a family Columbaria purchased through Signal Hill Memorial Park and located on 3 burial plots at Signal Hill Memorial Park for the cremated remains of myself and family members. My brother's remains were placed there last November, however when we had the ceremony we found the granite cover plate was improperly cut. In order to continue with our ceremony we(Signal Hill Memorial Park) placed my brothers cremated remains in a adjunct niche. We were told by Signal Officials they would move the remains later at no costs when we have the correct granite cover. Well, I now have the correct cover plate and Signal Hill wants to charge us $1800 for the move and paperwork. We only paid $870 last November for the entire service and burial.Desired Settlement: I feel Signal Hill Memorial Park should honor their commitment to move my brothers remains. This move only requires removing 2 screws, lifting the cover plates off the columbaria and moving the urn, then reinstall these 2 12" X 12" cover plates. 5 minutes max. I think there is also an office paper we need to sign showing the placement in the columbaria.

Response:

Hello Ms. [redacted], I have reached out to [redacted] and will be meeting with him today, Wednesday, 3/18 at 11:00 am. Signal Hill Memorial Park will be moving Mr. [redacted] brother at no charge. I was not aware that someone at Signal Hill Memorial Park said that Mr.[redacted] brother would be moved for free but once I became aware of the commitment a staff member made, I honored the commitment. Please contact me if you have any questions.

I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID[redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I have visited Signal Hill Memorial Park yesterday (Thursday, March 19, 2015) and all my issues were resolved in a very nice manor. Thanks to all that helped me with this issue. I consider this complaint resolved.

Review: Patrick Memorial Gardens has been contracted by Mrs. [redacted] to place an order and send information to Ms. Emily M[redacted] of Signal Hill Memorial Park for a bronze memorial. On August 28, 2015, we mailed a package (certified mail) and other than the return signature confirmation, have had no contact with Emily M[redacted]. We have left numerous messages, and she has not responded. We have not received the bronze memorial and do not know if it has been ordered.Desired Settlement: We want Emily M[redacted] to return our call and verify that the order has been placed and give us an approximate date of receipt.

Response:

RE : Complaint ID# [redacted] The order we received from Mr. [redacted] at Patrick Memorial Gardens is not a Vet match memorial, which is what Mrs. [redacted] originally purchased from Signal Hill Memorial Park. We have sent a proof to Mrs. [redacted] to approve the order. Once we receive approval from Mrs. [redacted], we will order the marker and the production of the marker could take approximately 8 to 12 weeks from the time of the order. We will notify Mr. [redacted] once the order has been placed and we receive an estimated ship date.

Response:

I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

In the response from [redacted] she states that the order she received from me was not a Vet match memorial, which she states in her response is what Mrs. [redacted] ordered originally. Please refer to the two attachments I have sent with my refusal. The order I sent was for a Vet match memorial, as you can see. This order was placed at the end of August 2015, and I have not received ANY response from Ms. [redacted]. I have place several phone calls, with no return call. I demand that she call me and speak to me. I have sent proper documentation including copies of Ms. [redacted] driver license to show that I represent her. This memorial should have been in our possession by this time. I place similar orders on a daily basis and items are received within 8 weeks.

Regards,

Review: My mom passed away on February 14, 2014. She and my dad had already contracted with [redacted] for plots, etc years ago. (He passed away in 1997.). I have been EXTREMELY disappointed with [redacted] service in handling my mom's burial. First, no one, not one person, contacted me before the day of the service even though I had called and left a message or probably messages. I had to rely on [redacted] staff for information. Therefore, instead of being able to pay for the digging fee before the day of the service, incredibly tackily [redacted] asked me to stop at the office and pay the fee after the actual graveside service ended. Now I have left multiple messages and even paid at least one in person visit inquiring as the my mom's grave maker. Almost 7 months later it is not there and since NO ONE EVER RETURNS my calls I have no idea where it is or even if it will be delivered.

I have been told [redacted] is changing hands. I can't tell you how much I don't care about that. They only had one opportunity to get the service correct and in my opinion they blew it. I want to request now someone intervene on my behalf to have my mom's marker placed. I have absolutely no patience with these unprofessional unresponsive people anymore.

Thank you for your help. I await your reply.Desired Settlement: My mom's name marker on her grave places NOW. a written and verbal apology for all.

Response:

My mother's name is [redacted] I am not sure who I spoke with but it has been several people in the office at Dale Memorial. Most of these people never returned my call. I didn't think it would get to this point so I didn't memorize names. The office is small..not too many employees there. The plaque is STILL NOT THERE. My mother passed away February 14th 2014.

Response:

To Whom it May Concern,

I have reviewed the comments in the complaint and, while I cannot speak to the events that occurred in February (as I was not at Dale Memorial Park), I can shed light on the memorial issue.

Please find [redacted] the original contract completed by [redacted] and [redacted]. on 4-18-1970. They purchased a bronze memorial (item number 4) without scrolls (underlined) for 2 people.

The second contract shows [redacted] purchased a scroll for [redacted] on 3-3-1997 at a cost of $165.00 when he passed away.

To add the name information for [redacted] her scroll will need to be purchased. The current price of this bronze scroll is $535.00, plus tax. I will waive the $135.00 processing fee to assist the client family.

[redacted] should contact [redacted] at Dale Memorial Park to complete the contract for the scroll.

Should there be any further questions please feel free to contact me at [redacted] Thank you, [redacted]
