One of our drivers was driving in upstate NY when he slid off the road into a ditchNothing serious, he was fine, the truck was fine, his 44k wght of beverages was fine, he just got stuck in a ditch from the weather conditionsThere was a sheriff who was nearby and saw it and he came to ask if needs helpThe driver who’s English isn’t great and a company truck, said he will call his dispatch office and we will call a tow for him, the Sheriff said he will call the guys who are nearby and not to worry hes got it and they will be here within 30minThe driver granted did NOT ask the price of how much they charge, just thinking this nice guy is helping him outDriver calls in to report the issue to us, and we notified the owner of the truck right awayHe calls Rick and Rich towing asking what they normally charge per hour and for a pull of out the ditch, they said their guys will be there shortly and they charge $175/hrThe guy arrives to the scene to pull him out and he send needs to call in another guy because he’s really stuckThey both wait there for this new guy to show up (about 1hr that they still are charging per when this first guy arrived)Ok now they are both there and they end up pulling him out and the driver starts his truck, and hes out of fuel, figures, what a lucky day he’s having! So they fill him up with gallonsNow comes the billAny guesses on what the charge is? Even on a high endYou got that number in your head? Okay, now times that about 10! They charge this driver $9,That was not a typo, $ 9,for the total of 4hrsWe are clearly in the wrong line of business here! The driver calls his owner, who obviously said that’s impossible, send me the bill, you misunderstood them, he thought $They send him the bill and indeed its that price, the owner calls Rick and Rich towing where they said those are the charges for their heavy duty trucks and he was really stuck (even though his soda load didn’t even budge!) They said lets figure this out and tell the driver to follow them to their office nearbyThe driver follows, park where they told him to park and goes into the office where his owner and the shop are arguing on the phone about this outrageous invoice, meanwhile they lock up the drivers truck and trailer on their lotThey then say we only accept cash or a cashier’s check for this invoiceThe owner tells his driver let them send me an invoice, leave all the information with them and let them send me a bill, they can’t hold my equipment there like thatDriver does as he’s told, at least tries, then they call the same Sheriff who arrives almost immediately and now isn’t letting the driver, or the truck and trailer leave the property Then they say, oh by the way, we charge for storage and parking on our lot $900/dayThe driver couldn’t properly communicate with them to let them know they can’t hold him hostage or detain him! He’s not under arrest! They can’t hold the equipment hostage as well! They completely took advantage of the driver who couldn’t properly communicate with them, on the phone they didn’t want to talk to us until we paid! What were we suppose to do besides pay? Call the sheriff? Who’s already there and probably getting a cut from calling this towing company as a referral and it was absolutely outrageous, the whole thingSo fellow truckers, please please be aware of Cortland County Sheriff’s office, and this Rick and Rich towing before this happens to youIf the driver wasn’t on an important load where the broker did us a favor and rescheduled his original delv appt at a distribution place for next day, instead of 3days out, the owner would’ve fought more, drove up there, had more time to think, I don’t know, I just don’t know how a company can do this, and based on the other reviews that’s how they do their business

IF I could warn everybody not to go here I wouldYes the towing is fine bc they are the local truck of AAABut DO NOT get your car fixed hereFirst off they charged $to even diagnosis my carAfter not even saying they chargedClaiming it took "hours" of labor to diagnosis my carBULL *** Right away I knew something was very wrongThen they said they were going to charge me 800$ for my repairsI reluctantly paid the $and instantly brought my car to another local repair shopThey new repair shop is charging me $for my repairs that they claimed was going to cost near $Save your money go anywhere else

Do not use them! They took advantage of my unfortunate situation by over charging me for both towing and storage. Rude customer service!
