Rick is a crookHe told me my car had new brakes when I bought, a few months later a mechanic told me the brakes needed to be replacedRick would not helpThis is actually the second time this has happened to my family.Do not buy from him

Clutch died exactly 2 months after buying my jeep.I bought my 2007 Jeep Wrangler from Rick Ruberti Auto Sales on Dec 24th 2013. Exactly 2 months to the day the clutch died in the Jeep. They said they won't fix it for free. They said it is driver wear and tear. I don't believe this. I feel that they sold me a Jeep knowing the clutch was bad and hoped it would last until the warranty expired. I feel I was sold a Lemon. I should not have to pay out of pocket to fix a clutch that died in 2 months of me owning the Jeep. I feel they need to fix this problem for free with the warranty expired or not. Can anything be done about this? Desired SettlementI want the clutch fixed properly with them paying for it.Business Response To whom it may concern,On 12/23/2013 one 2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited was delivered to said customer with 71,422 miles on the odometer. This vehicle had been serviced and inspected by our A.S.E. certified technician and was deemed in excellent condition and certified for resale. All systems performed as designed, including the clutch system. On 02/24/2014 a call was received from said customer stating the truck wouldn't go into gear and asked that we tow it to our facility. We sent our tow company to retrieve the vehicle. Upon arrival at our place of business the mileage was noted as 74,293. The warranty given to this customer was 60 days or 2,500 miles which means the vehicle warranty expired at 73,922 miles per Massachusetts Law Chapter 90 Section 7N. At this point we checked the Jeep and determined the clutch was completely worn out and the vehicle would not move with the transmission in any gear. Since the clutch worked perfectly two months ago, we can only surmise that failure was caused by improper use. I also noted that a trailer hitch with a two inch ball was installed by the customer. Improper use of a clutch while towing whatever said customer towed I am fairly sure would accelerate clutch wear. In light of all this, we still offered to replace the clutch and absorb the tow for between eight hundred to nine hundred dollars. The customer wanted us to bear all costs which is unreasonable.Respectfully submitted,[redacted], OwnerConsumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)No. Even with a trailer hitch attached it would not have accelerated wear and tear. There is a 90 day lemon law in Mass in which I am looking into. If everything checked out fine 2 months ago then the clutch shouldn't have died in 2 months. We been driving standard vehicles all our life and never had a problem like this.

Great business. Reliable cars. If anything is wrong he fixes it. Guaranteed cars.
