4/28/18 To whom it may concern: In response to your letter dated April 19, (case number ***), Mr*** is correct in stating he has brought the camper in for service on three separate occasions. Per the manufacture's warranty, Rick’s RV Center has
diagnosed and corrected Mr*** concerns on each occasion. Each repair requires the dealer to get authorization from the manufacturer before the work can be performed. Some repairs take longer to get approval for. All necessary repairs were performed under the 2-year manufacturer’s warranty at no cost to the customer. Rick’s RV Center would be willing to take Mr*** trailer in on trade for another new or used trailer. I am rejecting this response because: After conferring with the dealership about a "trade in" of the current travel trailer, it was obvious that my wife and I would incur a substantial monetary loss (approximately $considering our original trade in and purchase price)What the dealership offered is no different that what any other RV dealership would have offered my wife and I in tradeIf we would have bought a new travel trailer, they would have simply manipulated the numbers on the purchase price and the trade in price to give the appearance that we were "compensated" for the numerous issues we have had since buying the travel trailerI have contacted the manufacturer and have not received a response after several weeksThe warranty on this trailer is due to expire in months, my wife and I do not want to be responsible for any further repairs due to faulty craftsmanship once the warranty expiresThe dealership had to negotiate with the manufacturer (Starcraft) to have them authorize a repair and inspection of a severe leakA year old camper should not leakIt is obvious that by the list of extensive serious repairs that have been completed on this travel trailer, that it is defective and not of quality craftsmanshipThe manufacturer and the dealership need to acknowledge that this travel trailer was poorly constructed and make my wife and I whole by taking back the travel trailer, cancelling the remaining loan balance and refunding the full amount of our trade in creditAny monies paid towards the balance thus far will be considered as payment for the use we were able to get out of the travel trailer Sincerely,
