Review: My car started to smell like gas & ran horrible. I took it to Rick's Car Care where I was told it needed all the intake valves replaced & valve seats refaced. They gave me a quote of $1,900.00 so I brought it in on March 9, 2014. It took them 3 weeks before it was ready & the bill turned out to be $3,301.97. Seems like I was drastically overcharged on some things,(example: they charged $67.50 for 2 gallons of coolant, the thermostat, the head gasket set, & the timing cover gasket set was over priced compared to other garages). After I paid them, a little over a month later it started to smell like gas again & the exact same problems were happening plus the check engine light came on which never happened before. I brought it back to them on May 9th since it was under warranty but they charged me $95.00 any way to diagnose it, (over charged again even though it was under warranty). I think they reset the codes because it happened again so I brought it back on May 12th, May 19th, June 17th and again on June 20th, all for the same reason and their invoices state that. It seems as though the original problem was never fixed correctly & they just kept resetting the codes. I never got a repair order or any explanation of what was done to the car. They then told me the car needed oxygen sensors replaced but would not guarantee that would work. When I got a second opinion from another garage, they said no, that the codes showed misfire but never a oxygen sensor code. I am still having the original problem so when I went back to Rick's car car again, they would not even look at my car until I replace the oxygen sensors. So I am now turning to you for help. I no longer wish to deal with them, I am requesting a refund so I can take it to another garage where they will fix my car correctly. My car still has the check engine light on, still smells like gasoline & has the same problem ever since the original pick up date.Desired Settlement: I understand that they did do work on my vehicle but I feel that I should be refunded back everything but their out of pocket expenses since the problem was never correctly fixed. Plus the additional $95.00 diagnosis fee I was charged since it was under warranty and the difference of the price in the coolant and other parts that I was over charged. Total amount of refund I am requesting $2,038.50
