Gary has tried to reach out to the customer to discuss.  This is the information from the written proposal. “TREE SERVICE $2,200.00Remove bushes and scrub trees in front. Grind Stumps. Remove Vines...

and Ivy from Dogwood in front. Remove Vines and weed trees left side. Remove Mulberry weed left rear. Remove Vines from rear of house. 2 JOB DISCOUNT ($150.00) coupon 3 STUMP”  It clearly states to remove bushes and scrub trees in front which from the sounds of her email she directed him to remove all junk trees.   From the pictures I see of her house, that is really all that I see out front.   In regards to the vines, I would like to see some pictures of what she is describing as not being completed.  This job has been completed for over a  month now and never once has she contacted our office directly.    Thank you,Mary [redacted]

Our company is Ricks Tree Service, and has been since 1992. Not sure what the person is referring to when they claim we are misrepresenting ourselves? I assure you we are the real Rick's Tree Service. I believe the Revdex.com can attest to that since we have been an accredited member for over 10 years. So...

that part makes no sense, so I do not know how to respond to that. In regards to the free estimates, all estimates are free. This customer signed a contract and gave us a deposit to secure the job, price, and a work date. They decided to cancel after the 3 day right to rescission date. I explained to them that that is not how the law works. As business owners we are to comply with all laws that are to protect consumers. In this situation, the law was to protect the business owner. That's why we have laws, and that why we take deposits. My question to the customer is, what is the point of signing a contract and giving a deposit if in the end, you don't think it should mean anything?I just doesn't make sense to me? I believe this is a matter for the court system, not the Revdex.com, as no work has been done here.

She gave us a deposit for work to  be done. The point of a deposit is to secure the job for both parties. I'm confused as to why she thinks I am not understanding the idea of a signed agreement and a deposit?????? Forget about our other company. The mulch connection. That is a partnership with 2 other people. I am not in a position to give away their materials.I believe this is a matter for a court, not the Revdex.com.

I am rejecting this response because: I wanted to give this company a chance to do the right thing.  Clearly they are not interested.  Please post this information so that no other consumer makes the mistake that I did.  There are 2 Rick's Tree Services, make sure you know which one you intend to do business with.

We had some large trees that needed to be removed, and these trees bordered a very busy street and were somewhat tangled up in telephone pole supports, so this was a difficult job. Rick's Tree Service gave a reasonable price for the job, and got this difficult job done in one day, including removing all tree trunks and debris. They did an excellent job and were courteous and professional. We highly recommend Rick's Tree Service for any tree removal job.

The service was not done as requested we ask them to cut down the hedges around the property as low as possible. It was not done so we called to complain and another associate came out and said they could not be cut lower which we feel as though they could have been cut lower we have had this property for years and they have been trim lower than what they are now. This company has very poor customer service.

Review: Ricks tree service gave me a estimate to remove trees and brush on 5/14/2014 I gave them a check for 500.00 dollars down payment they needed to schedule with [redacted] Energy since trees were in power lines they were scheduled with [redacted] nine weeks later on July 16,2014 to be removed, I scheduled and had small plantings removed so they would not be damaged from trees being removed I received a call from Ricks on July15,2014 that [redacted] had canceled and it would need to be rescheduled I called Ricks a few days later and they said they did not hear from [redacted] yet I waited a few more days and called again still no response from [redacted] the person who I was speaking to gave me [redacted] number to call I called [redacted] and they gave me a date of 8/4/214 this would make it 13 weeks from start I said I will cancel the service I called ricks to cancel and was told I would lose my deposit I realize that Ricks as no control over [redacted] but I think a good business man would have split the cost and refunded $250.00. I am now out the $500.00 deposit plus $300.00 for the removal and replanting of the plantings below the trees let alone the $400.00 for the new trees that we purchased. [redacted] is the problem here and I would like to know how to go about dealing with there end of it, it seemed like they were not to concerned with what happened they enjoy receiving my check each month for the utilities we use I believe my wife paid them twice on month and when they called she told them just to apply it to next month bill. Like I said I don't think this is Ricks problem but I also don't believe he incurred $500.00 in labor costs I would be more than happy for $250.00 back, I am a contractor myself and if I was in this type of situation I would refund the whole deposit to keep good public relations

Although we disagree that we should refund the deposit as we are well past the 3 business day law, and also since we have already put effort into the back end of the job, we will refund the $250 as requested in order to maintain our perfect rating with the Revdex.com. It doesn't make much sense to have a contract if in the end you can run to the Revdex.com to supersede a signed agreement and hold a companies rating hostage. Check will be in the mail this week.
