Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
Sincerely,
[redacted] The business did not state the facts correctly.  When I picked up the car he told me that removing the Pulley Tension on the A/C stopped the knocking sound and that the car was okay.  When I drove home it stopped on Southshore Drive.  I had it towed home because it would not start.  The next day he had the car towed back to him and that was when he said he replaced the timing belt and water pump.  When I got the car back 4 parts were lying in the floor of the car.  So therefore it was still his responsibility. He told me it would cost $2000  to fix the car and that I would have to give him $800 down to start work on the car and for me to sleep on it and call him back.  He has worked on my cars for over 30 yrs.  If you can't trust a business for 30 years who can you trust.

I am Sorry Ms. [redacted] feels cheated but the Acura was running fine when it left my shop there was no way my mechanic could have known her Timing belt would break on LSD I believe the part of the problem is lack of driving the car which makes many parts to become brittle especially rubber belts. Also the reason the 4 parts were not put back on was because it was not going to make car start due to engine valves being bent because of timing belt breaking Also because if she decided to do valve job on engine those same 4 parts would have to be removed therefore making valve job a bit easier. There is also a 120.00 Tow charge that I paid for and a timing belt and water pump that are on the car which I am not being reimbursed for. If you decide to fix car I can give you best possible price I can but I would not know until engine is sent to Machine Shop

Ms [redacted] Acura was brought in originally for a noise when starting. Car was inspected and found a Air Condition compressor failure we removed AC belt and car was not making any more noise we called her and let her know later that day she was driving and water pump pulley froze and broke timing belt...

on this type of engine when belt breaks there is possible valve damage to engine which was explained to her.We tried to replace water pump and timing belt to no avail valves were bent engine will not start unless you have a complete valve job done which could run from 1800 to 2000 dollars she said car was not worth it parts that were left off will not make engine start which I explained to Ms [redacted] I'm sorry there was no way my mechanic could have known water pump would freeze up probably because car is not driven much.

The parts that Ms. [redacted] says I claim to have put on are still on the vechile all u have to do is lift the hood and new parts are in plain view on driver side of engine compartment. Also my new parts and the money I paid for towing the car is still an open bill which I'm not complaining about because I know her. My mechanic tried to get her acura to start but damage was done when timing belt broke there is not anything else we can do .I am sorry!
