Rick's Roofing & Siding Reviews (9)

My husband and I had a very favorable experience with Rick's Roofing and Siding, the crew working quietly and steadily all day to complete the job. The job was completed and finished on time as promised.

Very sorry and is good customer. Will call and go out to see.
Rick

Rick came over and was very thorough in explaining the materials he uses to replace a roof.
The job was done less than a week after signing the contract. The workers did a good job of
ripping the old roof off and installing the new one. They also did a good job cleaning up. I
would recommend Rick's to anyone needing a new roof

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
That is not true entirely.  The leak is on the ceiling not from the window.  We never had a leak prior to the roof.  My concerns during the job of debris in the house which would imply that the roofing was not properly is talked around the skylight was never addressed when I called at the end of the job, Rick just told me not to worry.  Also the first major rainstorm we got it leaked and yes my son noticed it first and we had been away but that is clearly irrelevant .Sealing it would have been the least bag could be do e seeing he roofing company created this problem.  I also had a second opinion and hat skylight is not cracked. It's leaking off the edge.
Sincerely.

My husband and I had a very favorable experience with Rick's Roofing and Siding, the crew working quietly and steadily all day to complete the job. The job was completed and finished on time as promised.

My experience with Rick and his roofing company was horrible. When he was trying to sell me his services, he seemed knowledgeable so I signed a contract. He told me there would be a lead worker and a supervisor and that the job would take one day. It concerned me that he gave the price only by measuring from street level, not going onto the roof at all, but I accepted it because he said he had years of experience. He gave me a phone number to reach him and promised to respond to a call within an hour.
The day of the job a van with two men arrived. As they prepared to work, I tried to ask where the supervisor was. They just turned away from me. They were speaking Spanish so I tried my limited Spanish. They ignored that also. Finally one of them let me know the supervisor went to get more men and would return in an hour. They started working. The day got more uncomfortable when the supervisor returned about two hours later with one man and
immediately left to find another one.
I had been calling the number Rick gave me about every hour from the first arrival and the operator said he was getting the messages. He did not return any calls and I continued trying all day. I even asked if the service had an emergency number. I asked the workers for the number to reach the supervisor. Finally one man did give it to me, but the supervisor did not answer. The men continued tearing off shingles and I couldn't ask any questions about how they would handle the repairs. I was so frustrated and frightened. When they finished removing half the shingles, about one o'clock, I stopped the job. About that time the supervisor, who spoke English, returned. I explained to him how I felt. He reached Rick by phone and I also told him. All he offered was excuses and rambling about the quality of his work. I insisted they clean and leave. I called another company and they came and tarpped the exposed wood.
I listened to Rick ramble as he called me repeatedly all evening. I finally blocked his number from my phone. He refunded less than a third of my deposit, keeping over $2,000.
I was traumatized by this experience and had to pay for another company to do the job over. They discovered there were five rotten spots in the wooden layer, which they repaired. Rick's workers had not found any of them.
I am dissatisfied with the entire experience. It was a horrible day.

I employed Ricks Roofing to put a new roof on my Colonial house this month, February 2016. They worked very hard and into the night to complete the job satisfactorily. It took just a few days to complete, Mr. Rick C[redacted] was very helpful and responsive to any concerns or requests I had during the project. He has worked for several other families in my neighborhood and I would recommend him to anyone looking for a reasonable and trustworthy company to deal with their roofing project

Review: Ricks Roofing had replaced our roof in May. When the roof was replaced, there was debris in the family room from one of the skylights. I mentioned this to the owner Rick during installation, but he said if there was an opening it would have been sealed. In early July, after heavy rainstorms it was apparent that there was a leak. My roof and ceiling had never leaked before. When Rick addressed it, he stated he is not responsible for anything in the interior of the home and that I had a faulty and cracked skylight. I took a look in and out and the skylight looks fine, I don't think it was insulated and sealed and that the roof was installed properly around the skylight. They did come out and state that they repaired and sealed the skylight, however this should have never happened and they should paint and repair the ceiling inside too. If the skylight is cracked now, that should also be replaced as they never told me anything about the skylights prior, during or after the job until I had a leak.

Want to explain both to Revdex.com and to [redacted] both what happened and the time line.On May 1st 2015 Rick's Roofing stripped and re-roofed home on [redacted] We used all top of the line materials with roofing system. Not only met local codes, but also met all new home insurance company regulations, which most roofers do not. Rick's Roofing also did extra work without charge. On July 8th 2015 [redacted] called regarding a leak on the skylight on her home. She explained that her son had noticed a leak in her home. [redacted] explained that her son saw a leak from the glass on the skylight while she was away on [redacted]. Also said that she hardly ever goes in that room, so may have not noticed it herself.[redacted] said that she really was not sure what happened with her leak. I am much more aware than the home owner, but should not be so.On July 10th a crew was sent out and found that the skylight itself (nothing to do with the roof) had many cracks and spaces in the skylight itself. The crew did seal and caulkthe best they could do on the old skylight. The glass on the skylight was so old as it was pulled from the frame. But we sealed anyway at not cost to customer.I did call [redacted] again just three day's after her first call. Explained that her skylight is over 25yrs old, that if not replaced soon, and let go through the winter, out free repairwill probably not last. Gave the price that would have been from the start of $750.00 to replace the old 25yr skylight. Again Rick's expects our free seal on the skylight to last for a shorttime, but advice to replace as very old and very damaged. On 7/16/15 [redacted] did agree that she was aware of the age and condition of the current skylight.Really do not know where to go from now. But customer needs to know that "They , are responsible to protect the home and cover, if necessary with tarps, to keep their property safe. After all it is there home!
