Rick's Woodworking & Custom Cabinets Reviews (%countItem)

We hired Ricks Woodworking to build and install our cabinets in our new home. We ordered In early October (the 9th I believe) and we’re told it would be 4-6 weeks. We were fine with that. We understand the process for which it takes to get the custom cabinets. We didn’t have much correspondence with the owner throughout the 6-8 weeks because the house wasn’t ready for cabinets. However, as it neared time for the company to come install, we did reach out to him (Trace) to ensure that things were still on track etc. This correspondence began what has been weeks worth of excuses, unprofessional business ethics, no answers and ultimately no cabinets. At this point, we are close to 12 weeks from our order date and have been waiting for the cabinets for a month.

When contacting the business, all of which is through text or Facebook message, for proof; we were told “we’re right on track”, “we should be there next week”, “we should be there this week or next”, not once could he give us a date to install. As we began to pressure him, then came excuse after excuse. Again, no definitive answer, date, time frame, or answers. This has went on for weeks. We’ve reached out to our contractor who also began contacting the business and he could not receive any answers either. This brings us several concerns as well as questions. Are the cabinets here? Did he ever order them? At what point are we allowed compensation? Do we pull the plug and go else where? At what point, do we say that we can no longer get the run around. Our home is ready for us to move in but we can’t solely because of this ordeal. We spent Christmas dismantled as a family, running here and there and everywhere because we are not under one roof yet. However, I’m sure this own spent Christmas under one roof with his family all the while enjoying our down payment for a product we haven’t received and aren’t sure that we will. He finally said they are done, so what’s the hold up? Is he lying? Are there cabinets or not? When is enough, enough?

Rick's Woodworking & Custom Cabinets Response

First off the purchase date was 10-30-17 when I received deposit check of $4200 on job totaling $8351 not $10,000. Yes I talked about 6 week turnaround which is customary for us. We were on a good schedule then we had a new hire quit leaving us short handed and the flu ran through our shop and two different key pies of machinery broke down slowing us down as I told Mr *** we had some issues but we’re working on them. I don’t want to argue I want to resolve it we plan to be done by Jan 2 I didn’t want to give exact day then a something happen to hinder this. We have been in business over 20 years we didn’t do it by taking advantage of people. We will be done around that time frame give or take a day or two at the most. Also we do not enjoy there deposit it is used for materials and I assure everyone that the deposit doesn’t cover the expense of getting to finished product.

Customer Response

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because:

I’m not taking January 2nd give or take a day or two. That’s why we are in this position, due to excuse after excuse. The owner’s word means nothing at this point. There has to be a end game at some point, at some point we HAVE to make our house payment. I can’t tell them that I will pay it around the first of the month give or take a day or two, when I’ve had since OCTOBER 30th, to get it done and ready. And while you stand by your business ethics; you may not intentionally lie, you do intentionally deceit and play games.

You have had since OCTOBER 30th to let us know you were behind and that things we’re not going to play out as expected, however, you decided to give us the runaround with statements such as: “we’re right on track” and “we should be done by blah blah” and SO much more. Which we have proof of, just like this very week- you’ve told us the cabinets were being sprayed, that they are done, they’d be ready by Friday. That was all THIS WEEK alone.

At what point are YOU held accountable? You are the reason our family is still dismantled and not living together. You have had since October 30th to get your bearings together, to get our product, and to make good, instead you are angry at us because here it is pushing January and we still don’t have any cabinets.

I wouldn’t have had to contact the Revdex.com had you been straight up, sure you’ve said all that you did in your response. Yes, you told us all of that, but you’ve also told us 29 other things; not one of which adds up. Again, we are educated, we know things come up but excuse after excuse is not acceptable especially when on MANY occasions you led us to believe Everything was going smoothly.

Sincerely
