Review: Spoke to Ricky's Automotive on the phone Ricky said he been in business for over 40 years. So he said that he can repair my car at a good price after he offer to go and pick my car up once my car arrived he call me to meet in a parking lot and bring him $2000 cash. I said Ricky you have not done any work to my car yet why should I bring you $2000 cash and why can't I meet you at your place of business he said no is was closing so I couldn't meet him there. I said that I would pay him with a credit or debit card over the phone he states he does not have a bank account because he was writing bounce check and the bank closed it. He keep on insisting that I bring him cash to order parts so I recommend giving him a money order so I could have some type of proof that I pay him. He states that he didn't have time to go and cash a money order so it wanted cash. At that point I was done doing business with him because he was starting to be shading so I told him I was coming to get my car then he said I would have to pay him $175 or I couldn't get my car and $35 a day storage so I told him I was calling the cops and hang up he called me right back and said he would take the money order can I bring it to him I told him I wasn't going to do business with him anymore because he was a rip-off. Also he told me the transmission had 8000 miles and when my brother call he told him 19000 miles his story kept on changing. I even offer to pay for the parts from the dealer and he install it but it keep insisting on bringing the money to him. When I got there he wouldn't release my car and I had a tow truck waiting so I had to pay to get my car back because he said he was closing before the cops got there. Everyone be careful of this shopDesired Settlement: I would like my $175 back

ID# [redacted] complaints are far from the truth, the actual facts are as listed below:

Ihave been in business for 37 years and have maintained my practice of logging every call and/or

inquiry in my call/logbook as Idid with Mr. Williams' case. This whole case started with his

brothers' phone call on February 22,2014,when Mr.Williams called from Florida and introduced

himself as the owner of a used-car lot and that he had a brother in San Diego who owns a 2002 Lexus

ES 300 with transmission problems. The brother had stated since he was in Florida that there was

nothing much he could do for his brother in San Diego,he found our listing on Craigslist and asked

if we could assist his brother with his transmission issues with his Lexus ES 300. I provided him

with all of the information and details of the transmission including the price and warranty. On top

of that,Ioffered him a $700 "industry'' discount;he expressed appreciation and said that he will contact

his brother who would contact us in turn to work out the details. I also told him that there would be a

tow charge of $175.00 for the tow from Oceanside which is over SO miles away from my location,

which he agreed to pay for as well.

The next day,Trevaunte (the brother in San Diego) contacted me after referring to his brothers'

initial contact with me,to have his car towed in to my shop. At that point I requested the deposit

of $2,000.00 and Trevaunte had stated that he would visit our location the next day with the

deposit. At that point we filled out the tow ticket/authorization over the phone and initiated the

tow which was on February 24, 2014. The vehicle was towed to the shop and upon the arrival

of the vehicle I paid $175.00 cash forthe tow (copy attached). The next day,Trevaunte called

me again and asked me if he could give me his credit card number over the phone at which point

I informed him that we require the deposit in cash. This is the point where Trevaunte had an issue,

he was upset that we require a deposit for parts and was insistent that he wanted to put the charge

on his brothers' credit card that lives in Florida. Next,he was getting increasingly upset and stated that

he would like to cancel the job and pick up his car at which point I informed him that he would have to

pay the tow charge which was out of my pocket based on his over-the-phone authorization. The next day

Trevaunte came to pick up his vehicle and wanted to do so without paying for the tow charge and if I did

not do so he had threatened to call the police. I am unsure if he did in fact call the police or not but he paid

the $175.00 towing charge and collected his vehicle.

All documentation is attached, for any further information please feel free to contact us.
