I am new to Arizona and to *** *** When I moved in, I had a back yard full of gravel I hired someone to remove the gravel (1st step), move on to grading and relandscaping the back yard He flaked out on me and I was referred to Rico's I called him to come out and give me an estimate, which he did It was a bit higher than the other person's so I figured with his creditentials, he would be a good choice I planted grass from seed as I could not afford sod and *** kept telling me I would be lucky to get 70% coverage He was surprised I got more coverage than that However, what he did not tell me was his job stopped with seeding the lawn It would be extra to reseed areas that needed it and when I asked him to do the first mowing, he was going to do it with a weed wacker Not at all acceptable I had purchased some bare root roses which he planted, improperly, even planting two that were obviously dead He installed a (I don't know what it is called) but it supplies water to the irrigation system, and it recently burst As we had already had a falling out, I didn't call him to repair it His warranty goes for a year on things he did from start to finish, but what good is his warranty if his work was done improperly to begin with I paid him very good money and one of the things he was to do was remove all the gravel and the plastic beneath it When I pulled up one of the roses because I knew it had been planted improperly, I discovered, he had planted it over a large tree root and over plastic which had not been removed and it was dead I have been advised by two large landscaping companies in this area that the grading he did of the lawn was not done properly, that he used too many sprinklers and there is so much overlapping that several of the sprinklers will have to be capped off; he didn't stake trees, even though he was supposed to and with no supervision at all, he had his inexperienced son put down mulch which was done so improperly that had I not checked it, I would have lost about 5-plants as the mulch was placed against the stems of the bushes He didn't make cones for the rose roots, just plopped the plants into the ground and when the plumber who put in an outside valve bibb for me, asked him if he, ***, wanted him, the plumber to put in the valve for the sprinkler system, *** said he would do itI would not recommend him, as he is very expensive and his prices do not comport with the quality of his work He kept telling me because I had been had so many times in the last few months, he was "going to take care of me." He did some work for which he told me he would not charge me and weeks later asked me when he was getting paid
