Review: I bought a boat that Rics Marine had done a lot of work on($4000). Before I bought it I asked if the warranty would transfer with the boat. Rick said it would. I drive to get the boat and bring it home. The first day the starter starts to grind. Rics had installed a new flywheel and starter supposedly. I do a little investigation and find that one of the starter bolt holes has a broken bolt in it. Instead of fixing it they had just put 6 washers on the bolt to keep it from bottoming out. I call Rics and he tells me to bring it up and he will fix it under warranty. I haul it up to him(3hrs one way) and he says he will have it ready in 3 days. On the 3rd day I call Rics and he says to come get it they had it fixed. I drive up to get it and on the very first start it grinds. One of his employees comes out and tries to tell me this is normal! I have a very extensive automotive background and know this isn't normal. I ask to speak to Ric and the employee tells me "its not a good time." I insist and he finally leads me to Ric. When I ask him about the sound he got very defensive and down right rude. He says its normal and he wouldn't worry about it. Against my better judgement I take the boat back home. Also while I was getting the boat ready to leave I noticed my tool bag was missing. I had to go ask the employee for it. I'm still missing a 1/4 ratchet and 8mm socket. The next day I take the boat out. It starts fine the first try. So I take it out for the day. Around dark I goto to start it and it grinds! It was grinding soo bad it wouldn't even start. I tinker with it for a few minutes and all of a sudden everything stops. It wouldn't even turn over. I dig around and find that they hadn't put a nut to hold all of the wires on the starter! So were stranded. Luckily I have a buddy who came out and towed us back. I call up Ric and he tells me to bring it back and they'll fix it. Its obvious they couldn't fix it the 1st or 2nd time so I will not spend $180 in fuel to have him "try" again.Desired Settlement: I would like to take it to a local marine shop and have them correctly fix the problem. Ric Marine should pay for the bill.
