We also repaired their push mower and weed trimmer during the year time frame. The push mower was replaced at no cost knowing they needed to have a working replacement. The weed trimmer was not in a good operable condition therefore I replace it at no cost to the family. Once back in their procession they neglected to maintain standard operating procedures and ran the equipment without proper oil levels, hence the riding mower engine was blown. They started to negotiate a deal for a replacement riding mower from my shop. I took their riding mower, with the blown engine, and gave them $for a tratowards a newer riding mower. The cost of the riding mower was $minus $for their trade-in. Unfortunately the family failed to provide any additional money towards the newer riding mower for more than four months. Mr[redacted]visited numerous times to talk about the riding mower progress and to bring more equipment for repair. During his last visit in late May he requested that I deliver the riding mower soon and he could start making payments in July. When I could not deliver as requested he sent the police to my shop. I informed the police officer that I had his original riding mower as taken in and all parts were there. Also, I told him that I could not afford to give equipment away without adequate payment. He asked if I could just return the original equipment and I did. Later in the week I received a call from the local Justice of The Peace questioning the events and I told her the same story. It obvious I cannot afford to give equipment away and I have bent over backwards trying to help the Recio family. Unfortunately I'm a small business owner and a single parent to seven children living under my roof. Every penny I make goes to support my family and I will not enter into a deal knowing I may not receive payment for many months.
