Ride Now Auto Sales Inc.  [redacted]
[redacted]   To whom it may concern                 On 8-28-17 Mr. Anthony [redacted] came into the office to complain about the vehicle he had purchased on...

8-3-17. It was a 1993 mercury Grand Marquis, with a sales price of $1995. The customer did not have the required 1/3 down, of $650. We did accept $350 as a down payment on the vehicle to help the customer out. It was stated several times that this vehicle was sold as-is, and he even signed a sheet in the sales contract stating as-is, no warranties.  All of our vehicles are sold as-is, customers are more the welcome to take the vehicle to another shop to have inspected prior to purchasing. This vehicle in particular had been inspected by our mechanic , and there was no underlying  issues found in the drivetrain or chassis. Several days after purchasing the vehicle Mr. [redacted] called us to say that the driveshaft had fallen out.  At this time we had told Mr. [redacted] to get the vehicle back to us and we would see what we could do about the repairs. He wanted us to fix it entirely free of charge or his money back.  He was told since the vehicle was sold with a much lower than standard down payment that he would be responsible for the towing bills and possibly costs of the repairs, but that would be negotiated once the vehicle was returned to us for inspection. On 8-22-17 Mr. [redacted] called us to ask what we were doing about his car, and whether or not he was getting his money back, and after we had informed him of the same thing stated previously, he demanded his money back, or to be traded into another car. We had told him that since the vehicle still was not returned to us, we were not doing anything until then. After that he had threatened to report us to the Revdex.com.   On 8-28-17, Mr. [redacted] and his father had come into the dealership to discuss what we were going to do for them. They had shown us pictures of the damages to the car. The driveshaft is broken, the transmission tailshaft is bent, and the pinion flange on the rear axle is broken as well. In the 20 years we have been in business, we have only seen this a few times and everytime it has been from abuse. I.E: Not coming to a complete stop before shifting from reverse to drive, running engine rpm’s up then shifting into reverse or drive, spinning the tires to do a burnout, or getting the vehicle stuck and rocking it to free it.                            We have tried to talk with them about getting the vehicle back to us to discuss repairs, and Mr.[redacted] does not want to be reasonable with us. He has expressed that he should not be liable for damages to the vehicle and towing/impound fee. He and his father were trying to talk over myself as I was explaining what I can and can’t do for them. They abruptly left complaining and threatening to see us in court. At no point in time before or during the sale on 8-3-17, did we tell Mr. [redacted] this was the only vehicle he could purchase, but it was one of the few that we could accept only a $350 down payment on. He chose the vehicle himself, and had test drove it on two separate occasions himself. The only complaint about the vehicle he had made was about a power window not operating at the time.                 Ride Now Auto Sales feels as if we had already done him a favor in letting him purchase the vehicle with a less than required down payment, and he was told this at the time of sale. We can not afford to fix the vehicle for free, as we are not a charity organization. We try to help customers out as best as we can, but unfortunately that typically costs us money that we may or may not receive back in payments on the vehicles.   Sincerely, Robert G[redacted] President,
