Outstanding Experience
I reached out to Ridgeline K9 for help with a 3 year old Weimaraner I adopted. He had poor leash manners, was easily distracted on walks and had developed leash aggression. I live in Raleigh and was paired with Stefanie.

We agreed on a 2 week board and train. She sent me almost daily updates and videos. When I got him back I could not believe what a different dog he was. She spent a good amount of time teaching me about the e-collar and how to use in correctly. She instructed me on our walk to help me learn how to self-correct and give consistent and clear communication to Diesel.

She is a very confident pack leader, but was soft and gentle also, never raising her voice.
This is the best money I have ever spent and it has given me the confidence to know that if I work my tools, Diesel will be a dog that can go everywhere with me!

I highly recommend Stefanie if you are in need of a dog trainer!

Disappointed
I can’t believe that I can’t find any bad reviews about Ridgeside K9 NC training posted. My daughter’s Australian Sheppard has been living with me due to behavior issues due to anxiety with loud barking and lunging when he encounters someone new (or has not seen in a while) and when encountering other dogs. He injured my hands prior to boarding training from pulling. The areas we requested to be worked on were counter surfing, being able to walk him without pulling, barking and lunging and being calm when encountering people. When we picked him up after 3 weeks of boarding training, we got less than an hour with the trainer going over her training techniques and how to continue to work with him. We requested for the trainer to walk him with us along side of her before we left. He was pulling and not well behaved, so she asked us to walk several feet in front of him and not to turn around to look at him. I expected to be able to walk him with someone else close by which we still are not able to do. He requires a prong collar and e-collar during a walk and still pulls and barks at times. We cannot have quests in our homes without him barking and guests fearing that they will be bit. He needs to be contained for several minutes with multiple shocks from the e-collar to settle him down. Sometimes guests just leave because of the fear. This is definitely not what we were expecting after 3 weeks of training.
When we picked him up from the trainer, the dogs that were on site were in a structure outside of the house in kennels. It appears that no training occurred in a home. He was potty trained when we dropped him off and now was messing in the house for a couple of weeks upon return. He was putting his paws on the counter more frequently and now taking items which he wasn’t doing prior to training. He would sit on command about 50% of the time without using the e-collar control. He did not come when called without using the e-collar control. We expected far more from off the leash training than only following commands with an e-collar. My daughter and myself called Ridgeside K9 website telephone number within a day or two of picking him up from training, leaving a message that we had concerns about the training. My daughter was contacted by the trainer, no one ever contacted me and I paid for the training. We are aware that the contract states there are no guarantees. The trainer told my daughter that we are entitled to lifetime follow up. Since it was an hour and half drive to the trainer, my daughter stated she could not come after work. Trainer stated she does do weekend sessions and would try to find a training spot half way between both of them. That was over a month ago and no further trainer contact with my daughter had been made. This training was a costly disappointment.

is an outstanding man, and a veteran who did a wonderful job training my GSD. I highly recommend him as a trainer whether you have a pet, or a working dog (K9). He can take an overly aggressive dog, and turn him into a well trained, happy, and very responsive dog. He can be trusted with your dog, because he will love your dog too, and will want only the best for them.
