Ridgeview Counseling Group Reviews (1)

On 1/23/14, I was told during a visit, that I owed $460, which I paid, using my [redacted] Visa card. At the time, I wasn't thinking to ask for a detailed billing, and later noticed that these charges were ALREADY submitted and paid through my [redacted] insurance. Since this business has already made their money twice and I've brought this to their attention, I have STILL NOT received a detailed statement for ANY charges. They are also unwilling to reverse the $460!Desired SettlementI expect the $460 to be refunded to my account. There are new people in the billing department who are THOROUGHLY unqualified to do their own jobs and when questioned, they act like they 'think' they know what they're doing, yet can't even operate the card swipe machine! In my opinion, The [redacted] Group should be meticulously audited into their billing practices for at least the last 5 years! It make me wonder how many other customers have 'willingly' paid for services twice rendered.Business Response The plaintiff was a client as a result of a mandatory court order to attend counseling for a DUI. She initiated in 2010. During her program she often did not pay her fees at the time of service. As a courtesy, we did bill her insurance company for the fee. The insurance paid part of the fees but there were some fees that were not covered, such as her co-payment and deductible. We would then inform her of the amounts and she would quite often delay payment. We have recently done an audit on our accounts and found that there was still an outstanding balance and an invoice was presented to her. After much discussion she paid the amounts due. She then started complaining she overpaid. She was informed that her therapist would sit down with her and go over the account, but she wanted it resolved immediately and a credit charged back to her credit card. She began disrupting the office staff by calling and keeping them on the phone for hours, she showed up at the office and created a scene in front of other clients to the point where she was told if she did not leave at that moment the police would be called. She left and continued to call the staff more. She was informed via email that she was being terminated as a client and to not set foot onto the property or she would be arrested for trespassing. This was a situation that the client caused and pushed to the point of being out of hand. We tried several times to resolve the issue in an amicable way, but she wanted it resolved her way only. Therefore, her complaint is without merit.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)To clear the facts, I was never REQUIRED to attend counseling. I enlisted(on my own)at [redacted] Counseling services, upon release from a treatment center, back on 5/2010.Also, I ALWAYS paid amounts owed when due. How can you explain MULTIPLE exorbitant amounts charged to my insurance that I also paid deductible/co-pays on? The billing over the years has been less than credible. The 'audit' that they performed is comical. What really needs to happen is an EXTERNAL audit for insurance fraud. Furthermore, no disruptions ever occurred. I simply entered the office inquiring about my balance, asking for a 'detailed' invoice of what was owned, so I could setup the appointment with my Psychiatrist. I was told to leave the office.Next, I received NUMEROUS text messages and voicemail that I still possess(from my therapist), who the billing disputes are with, telling me NOT to call, text, or show up in the office or I WILL be arrested? REALLY??I find it interesting that inquiring about a detailed bill(which by the way, I have NEVER received a detailed bill), prompts such a demand by the perpetrator to seek a need for harassment and restraint. No attempt on the part of [redacted] was ever attempted to resolve this in a formidable manner. The new billing staff has no clue how to perform their duties. I even had to show them how to use the credit card processing machine, not to mention they were rude beyond belief over the phone. Two days after my Psychiatrist appointment that I showed up for and was 'told' was cancelled, I was dropped by him, as the 'owners' made this decision.I have no problem providing further details and discussing this further with Revdex.com. I am however confused why things seem to be so one-sided when this business is clearly operating out of control.
