were able to save the cost of the removal of the old concrete step by raising the deck up .At the time the home owner thought this was a good idea. Once again this deck is built to code and the design that was agree upon by the home owner.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.   The builder has not offered a solution to the problem.  He does not address the fact that the storm door cannot be opened easily and removing the weather stripping is not an acceptable resolution as it leaves a gap between the bottom of the door and the threshold where air and insects can get into the house - using a draft dodger creates a tripping hazard ( I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and am 71 years old - sorry for the personal information but it is pertinent to the problem).  It is not practical to have a mat inside the house - this will bring snow into the home.  This design flaw was never agreed to by me.  When I agreed to leave the old porch in place - the builder assured me that there would be no  problems by leaving the porch in place.  At the time the decision was made, I told the builder that I was willing to pay for the removal of the old porch.  It is my understanding that "standard practice" is to leave a 4 inch "step up" into the house.  Regards,   [redacted]
