We used a sod cutter to remove all existing growth, such as weeds, grasses, etcon areas surrounding pool2. We cultivated those areas with a cultivator3. Eight to ten yards of RCA were backfilled in the area where the pool was removed, (approximately feet in diameter.) 4. To finalize preparation for the new sod, we applied 8-yards of screened top soil5. We then put down an application of starter fertilizer and installed the new sod6. The sod was delivered and completely installed on April **, I, *** ***, was personally present throughout the entire project including the finalizing stage before the sod was installedMy workers are indeed college students; however, they have been fully trained with hands on experience by me, for the preparation and installation of sod*** *** was advised by me of our lawn care program, which includes all further fertilizer, insect, grub, weed and crabgrass control as well as aeration and overseedingI didn’t persuade him to take the program, but only advised him of how important it would be to protect his investmentHe was further advised of all current and future watering instructions as well as mowing instructionsIt is important to note that sod is perishable and the homeowner is responsible for watering and mowing as instructedSod begins rooting in 7-days and it takes 3-weeks to fully establish*** *** assured me that he would follow all said instructions. I did a follcall two weeks after installation, as I do for every customer, and was delighted to hear that *** *** was impressed and happy with the resultsIn late June, I received a call from *** ***, stating that he had just returned from his vacation and his lawn is like “straw.” I promised him to come by the same day and take a look at itAs promised, I cleared my schedule and went to his houseImmediately after walking to the back, I informed him that his lawn went into shockThe lawn was matted from extensive activity which I then advised him to move all toys, bikes, balls, etcaway from the lawn area and onto the paved areaI diagnosed the lawn using my soil probe, which was hard to use due to the dryness of the lawn, and showed him the sample indicating how dehydrated the lawn wasHe stated that he just returned from vacation and couldn’t water the lawn as previously instructedAfter my inspection, as I walked back to the front to leave, I showed him a sample from the front lawn which was also undergoing severe drought stressThe week he was away, there had been no rainfall and we experienced hot weather conditionsDue to these circumstances, the lawn went into drought stress because of lack of waterWhen lawns experience drought stress, the ground gets as hard as rockHe was advised that due to the severity of the drought stress and excessive playing activity on his lawn, the lawn may or may not come back. I advised him to water immediately according to my new watering instructions and to avoid any playing activity on the lawn areaI also advised him that his lawn needs some treatments, which he said he already appliedHowever, the application of treatments will not solely help the lawn as a combination of water is absolutely necessary for the success of a healthy lawn. *** *** claimed the lawn was damaged due to a fungus; however, fungi will only thrive in the presence of both humidity and moistureWithout the presence of moisture in the environment, fungi will not flourishAs inspected, no watering was applied to the lawnDue to the negligence of watering, the lawn succumbed to drought stress conditionsAs such, Right Lawn Care will not assert any responsibility for such damages and will cease all future work on said premisesFor future concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me directly via telephone at *** *** or via email at ***Thank you Best Regards, *** ***
