inconvenience, I reached out to my Regional Manager and submitted the refund for approval, unfortunately at this point it was out of my hands, This matter began 5/26 of 2017 and was brought to my attention on 7/10 of 2017. When I locked further into this, I tracked down the check to make sure we didn't Miss any details, the check was left in our mail slot and had no indication of which account the payment was to be applied to besides the mailbox number that Was at the top left side of the check along with customers name and address. At this time the accounts:were separate and not merged, reading the check I entered the mailbox number and applied it to the only unit on the check since there wasn't any indication of the payment needing to be applied to any other unit. Typically, customers write on the notes indicating the unit number in which the payment will be needing to be applied to. I did however express my understanding regarding the situation, unfortunately he didn't accept the apology too well seeing as how the refund wasn't immediately refunded.On 07/25 of 2017 Mr. [redacted] sent in another check of $100 and I reached out to him and he informed me that he has yet to be refunded the money. Wanting to resolve the issue at that moment I asked Mr. [redacted] if he would just like, me to Void this check and send it back to him and Credit his account the amount that was supposed to be refunded so that it was taken care of, he then was upset and was extremely rude informing me that he wouldn't be storing with us and demanded the refund (which is understandable) and for the check to be applied. At this point I realized how frustrated the customer must've been. My response to this is that we take responsibility for this misunderstanding but would've appreciated Mr. [redacted] understanding that unfortunately on his end the unit was not clarified on the check and his mailing on the check was a mailbox he is currently renting with us, so hopefully this is considered. He did mention that the previous manager is who took care of his account and knew where to place the money, unfortunately he is no longer with us and we were unaware of this seeing as how at the very least we would've knew automatically, had the two accounts been merged from the very beginning. We do however apologize for the misunderstanding and have merged the two accounts to avoid any future problems. We do appreciate the Revdex.com reaching out to our business for clarification. To whom it may concern:The contract was made by another tenant who is the primary account holder for the unit. We require for the primary account holder who signed the contract to contact us, as stated on the lease which he was also provided with a copy of. Under this contract on section #12 RELEASE...

OF OWNER'S LIABILITY FOR PROPERTY DAMAGE, states all property store within or upon the storage space by occupant shall be at occupant's sole risk, owner and owner's agents and employees shall not be liable for any loss or damage to any personal property in the storage space or at the self storage facility arising from any cause. This is in the contract and signed by the leaser, not the individual filing the complaint.
